Had a talent for watercolor painting; the Fine Art Society in London presented an exhibition of his landscapes in 1958.
Created miniature set designs for films in which he acted.
Wrote two autobiographies: Peter Cushing: An Autobiography and Past Forgetting (1986) and Past Forgetting: Memoirs of the Hammer Years (1988).
Received the Order of the British Empire Award in 1989.
