really good concept

In my opinion if you like fighting games where the timing, combining what makes the difference, it's worth buying. If you are somewhat experienced you want to play the campaign on realistic straight away and turn the indicators off for playing multi. The campaign is like a long tutorial which takes place in an environment where the practicing is a little more fun. I think storywise it's all right yet I wouldn't recommend getting it if you are certain that you won't play multiplayer. Now the multiplayer is suprisingly well balanced, all the heroes are beatable by any other, given that you both are similarly skilled players and of course playing onto your strength not just spam and pray. I'm looking forward to see Ranked mode to be added as some of the fights are just way too unbalanced and feels boring/annoying. Don't let yourself to be fooled by steel packs, the attributes provided by the top tier gears are rather minor tweaks definitely not going to win you a game. Have Fun!

It has potential.

The fighting is great but 7/10 times you will disconnect and lose all the progress you made on an order (Orders are your main source of the ingame currency) if the developers decided to fix the connection issues i would rate the game much higher; but how can you enjoy the game if you're repeatedly getting disconnected and it is out of your control? The connection needs to be solved ASAP! I wouldn't recommend this game for it's boring campaign either it has only a few enjoyable moments. Also the monotonous grind for steel and XP is ridiculous; steel is the ingame currency and is required for everything! You can earn a measly 1200 steel a day if you put your hours into that (each character takes about 95,000 steel for all their unlockables.) So in conclusion you need to be extremely dedicated and patient for this game so do not buy this game if you are neither...

For honor has to be my favourite game, played both betas and havent been able to put the game down from release. Why the 3 stars? Because as much as I love this game, there are just problems big and small that can ruin your experience in an instant. The lag and disconnections (which are becoming less frequent with further updates ive found). The unexpected server downtimes, in fact I'm writing this waiting for the servers to come back online (they've been down for 4 hours so far). Then theres the inbalance in the game, exploits and general characters moves that should'nt be in a game like this. But as i've said this is my favourite game, the mechanics are so innovative and fresh, the way in which you have to understand the characters moves as well as your opponents. It really emphasises the players skill. The community is decent, you get good and bad players alike, but what community isn't like that? You'll always find d**ks. Hopefully in the future For Honor will be 5 star material.

Review title of C2 TH3 GFantastic, fast paced combat with intuitive controls

Brilliant campaign and great character models,combat controls are easy to grasp, but there is depth and a nice learning curve to some of the multiplayer classes. Some multiplayer modes are great, Domiinon, is a good idea but is essentially Conquest with a AI battle surging around you. Looks great and the chaos is sometimes really fun but is spoilt often by the age old problem; that most people online are awful. There's no honour in being savagely hacked to bits from 4 directions by the other team when moments before you and your opponent were locked in a very fun duel of wits. Overall very good game. Breath of fresh air. Rather bias as I love any history related content. Hopefully see more and more like this in the future. Nobody else hankering for Battlefield 1066?

So the game itself is great, combat is challenging at first and there are some heroes that aren't exactly balanced, but the biggest draw back are the God awful servers, the amount of times you and other players dc from a match is ridiculous, I don't see why this game doesn't have dedicated servers. 😒

Most reviews for this game are accurate at addressing the main, fatal issue consistent with Ubisoft product - unreasonable server latency and connection errors. Fix the servers, or lose your fanbase. Surely Ubisoft has enough revenue to solve such problems. Regardless, no review is fair about this game if we do not recognise what IS good - or bad - about its features; gameplay, story, art and architecture. Story: Do not expect originality with AAA games, as do not expect it from this game either. The protagonist(s) you play as are simple, if not, dumb by nature/design. That said, I was a personal fan of the Raider from the Vikings ark of the campaign. Art; Simple, cartoonish, psuedo-realistic. Enjoyed variations present amongst Hero characters. Architecture: Not to complex to look at, not simple enough to lose interest. Perfect for fighting games. Gameplay: While diverse and (somewhat) unique, it is very easy to exploit deadly, unstoppable chains.

Review title of Sgt Chucky Egg1 year on...

I have been playing For Honor since it's release just over a year ago now and by every means necessary it deserved the hate it used to receive. The game was very broken at launch and needed many tweaks to fix what was wrong with what was destined to be a decent and unique multiplayer experience. Fast forward to the current season, Season 5. The game is now sitting with a comfortable roster of 18 heroes, granted 6 are "DLC". I use quotes as you don't need to purchase the season pass in order to unlock them, saving up in game currency (steel), just like I did can be done. The game finally has dedicated servers a year later which it needed from the start I agree, but now they're here the connection is 100% better. As for matchmaking and matching with other players I can debunk the claims of other players saying they only match with "veterans". A friend of mine recently bought the game and he matches with Rep levels below 10 almost every game. I recommend this game, but don't pay RRP!

The game itself is fantastic. But no wants to spend £50+ on a game where you spend the majority of your time unsuccessfully attempting to join a game. The P2P servers are a horrific letdown. Oftentimes you're disconnected halfway through a game...and you gain nothing but wasted time through no fault of your own. This would be a 4/5 if you could actually have a good session of solid playing without frustrating disconnections and times where even joining a game seems impossible.
