Review title of ArtursA Home ediditon software.. really??
The device is a nice hardware upgrade from my Surface Pro 4. However, I did not expect this to be a software downgrade... People should pay more attention to asterisks (More attention than I did). Surface Pro 7 comes with Windows 10 Home edition. Here I am with my £1700 machine not being able to install docker on it. Of course all I need to do is just BUY windows 10 pro. Why would I assume my "PRO" machine comes with a "PRO" software? Excluding the pen from the box was already a money-grab move by Microsoft, but at least it was advertised! This Windows Home edition on Surface PRO machine move just feels cheap. SP4 came with the pen and Windows pro and was the same price as SP7. Buying a computer at this price I am not worried about money - make it £100 more expensive if you have to. It is about Microsoft not meeting expectations. Be more transparent! Add Windows version selection to the checkout or smth.
Review title of SilvioPoor poor quality and customer service
The laptop in itself is ok, lightweight and portable and relatively fast, i only use it for light activities as it is mainly a laptop for my studies so i wanted something portable and interchangeable into a tablet, which this does quite in a slick way. However.... 1) Within 2 weeks of owning an issue developed with Blue screen error 2) I reported to Microsoft and a fix was applied 3) Few days later the error came back and screen started flickering 4) Numerous more calls with support could not fix the issue 5) Finally it was agreed they would replace my machine 6) I received what looked like not a new laptop (i was never told i just queried as packaging wasn't the same as originally received machine) 7) It works out it is a tested machine and you can only have a return within 30 days of purchase I think this is shocking from Microsoft and advise you to really beware on their customer policies and warranty. I am quite unsatisfied and now stuck with a used machine for the price of new
Review title of AdrianThis thing is amazing
Coming from a Surface Pro 4, this thing is amazing. Battery life increase, the pen is 10x more responsive, battery life increase, fast charging, it doesn't drain 15% battery in an hour of sleep, instant on, better kickstand, 0% light bleed. The graphics and processor are a significant boost. Even though it looks almost the same, it's a different beast.
Review title of RAGood but be cautious
I'm changing my review as I've resolved some problems. As with all Surfaces it's as wonderfully powerful machine - the Iris graphics with quad core processor are really impressive, and it's good to get USB-C finally, and the screen is as good as always. A note of caution if you need portability. I had to return mine as I was getting 4-5 hours battery. The replacement had the same. Before giving up, I tried turning off Bluetooth and installing the new Edge Chromium, and finally got decent battery life. Even then, though, expect 6-7.5 hours and never the advertised 10 hours. The false advertising of 10 hours is infuriating as it sets a standard to judge the machine by. Other than that, it is an excellent machine.
Review title of StevenSurface Pro Fan i7 processor ALWAYS on.
Love the Surface pro so as an upgrade to the one I already had, I decided on the 16 GB Ram i7 processor but after a few hours of use the endless running of the fan drove me to distraction. The i3 and i5 are fanless, so I’m led to believe (the 2017 one I currently have is the same, quiet and a joy to use). So come on Microsoft, if you can make this thing quiet I’d pay for the top spec. Such a shame as I really do like this device.
Review title of AnamSleek and Fast
I was planning to go for Apple Mac book but I ended up buying this lovely kit, it was a kind of sudden decision when I found the link of this product on hireatrade.uk it caught my eyes and then I decided to buy it. It's just fantastic! The best thing it's sleek and fast.
Review title of PaulUnreliable
SSD died after 4 months of use. Totally unreliable.
Review title of GethinAmazing device with a poor finish
I've been buying Surfaces for a couple of years now and am on my 3rd, a black Surface Pro 7. Performance is great, it's got reasonable battery and is amazingly light. It only gets 4 stars because the black finish on it is already chipping off. For a £1400 laptop I expect better and it makes we wonder where else build quality is not up to par.
Review title of RobinThe flagship of computing experiences
The absolute pinnacle of computing excellence right now. A device the size of a tablet - use it for watching movies, or playing android games, a second later dock it to the fantastic keyboard and get the best laptop experience bar none, connect it to a hub, and get a full desktop experience. The hybrid device is the perfect form factor to represent what ipads and android tablets have been trying but failing to do. A computer with the power and technical maturity to run professional apps but the form factor to also be a pane of glass to surf or watch movies.
Review title of JoeDo not buy, endlessly glitchly
endless software glitches and issues, ranging from windows hello not activating because the device forgets it has cameras, to hard crashes that will lose ALL work you've been doing since last auto-save. or in my case, corrupt your files anyway
