This is the classic Amiga platform game, digitally restored exclusively for Windows Phone 7! Your mission is to find Saddam Hussein and arrest him so that he can be tried for war crimes. You are armed with an M-16 assault rifle, six 30 round clips of ammunition, a parachute, 10 plastic explosives, one LAW (light anti-tank weapon,) and a gas mask. You may find other items along the way. In addition to finding Saddam Hussein, you should destroy any military targets you may find, avoiding civilian installations if at all possible. You should avoid capture and rescue any allied POWs that you may encounter. If captured yourself, resist by any means available. Originally written during Desert Storm in 1991, this game has been recovered from a floppy image preserved since the war. An exploration in archeology and reverse engineering, The Saddam Hussein Game has been updated to capture the essence of the original Amiga game. The original game levels have been extracted, the original graphics captured and restored, and the sprites decompiled from the Amiga executable. Yet, with all that work the original soundtrack was still missing. The web was scoured, and a hacked copy of the ripped sound was found, providing the final key to decrypting the original score. This restoration has both the original captured Amiga soundtrack and modern reproductions taken from that score. Our timing was terrible, and the Amiga was on its last legs. The original Amiga game sold three copies, one of those a purchase order to an anonymous PO Box in Langley, Virginia. Since the Amiga’s demise, the game has found an underground cult following with the hard-core Amiga emulator fanatics. Buy now and see what the craze is about!
