WinIRC is a lightweight, fast IRC client for Windows 10. It's designed to allow you to chat on IRC easily, whether you're on a phone, a tablet or a desktop. WinIRC has a number of great features that make chatting on irc easier, including: - Inline media viewing: Images, youtube videos and tweets can be viewed inline without leaving the client! - Taskbar jumplists: right click on the app in the start menu to quickly access your saved servers! - Rich notifications: reply to PMs and in-channel mentions from a notification! Our client also has the essentials needed for basic chatting, including: - Connecting to IRC Servers - Joining and Leaving channels - messaging users with /query - basic channel moderation - Tab completion of usernames I plan on updating this app regularly to add new features and fix bugs. What’s new in this version
WinIRC 1.6 updates the SDK used to the fall creators update SDK, meaning you'll see some fluent design within the application! Specifically: - The sidebar has some acrylic blur applied to it - Fluent light effects are also present on the sidebar In none fluent design related updates, there's a number of new features, including: - Link metadata previews! In chat you can now see previews of any links following the OpenGraph standard, allowing you see a thumbnail, the title and a brief description. This can be disabled in settings - Channel logging! This allows you to take logs of all your current channels and save it to a folder of your choice - You can now right click on a channel, and enable notifications for all messages to that channel. Various other small changes and fixes include: - The twitter previewing is disabled on fall creators update devicesdue to a bug in the library used - Channels now only render the last 1k messages - Notifications are more reliable This is quite possibly the last major release for a while - the next 2.0 release will be a near full recode. However, bugfixes will still be released for the 1.6 update for the foreseeable future.
