How do I install Office?

After purchase, you can install Office at For more information, see the FAQ.

What's the difference between Office 365 plans and Office 2016 suites?

Office 365 plans include the complete suite of Office applications, plus other services that are enabled over the Internet, including extra cloud storage with OneDrive and Skype minutes for home use. With Office 365 you get the full, installed Office experience on PCs, Macs, tablets (including Windows, iPad, and Android) and smartphones. Office 365 plans are available as a monthly or annual subscription. With Office 365, upgrades are always included with your subscription.

Office 2016 suites, including Office Home & Student and Home & Business, include applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote; they are available as a one-time purchase for use on a single PC or Mac. The applications are not automatically updated; to get the latest version, you must purchase Office again when the new version becomes available.

Trouble-free switch from Office 2010

Bought this version after my old 32-bit PC, which had Outlook 2010, died and I had to buy a new 64-bit PC. I mostly use just Word, Outlook and Excel for home and (v small) business use so made a one-off purchase of Office 2016, which has all the features I need. No point for me in paying for a subscription to get updates in programs I never use. Installing it from the on-line download was painless, and I had no trouble linking in the printer/scanner and my camera. Delighted and relieved to find that my individual Outlook 2010 contacts re-appeared, but mildly annoyed that the groups I'd set up did not carry over into Outlook 2016. Why can't contact groups be automatically transferable?. My e-mail folders did carry over, and I'd set up most of them myself. My other one minor grouse is that I can't find how to turn off emojis in Outlook. I don't use them intentionally, but they pop up when I type in bracketed letters. Otherwise I'm well pleased with this package. Pleased to report that it's taken the new Windows Creator update in its stride!

Office 2016, isn't as bad as I thought.

After you get use to the ribbon rubbish on the toolbar, its really not that bad a set of office applications. I was previously using Office 2003 Pro (Retail) and had to do a reinstall and due to Microsoft stopping the automated activations of old office software I was forced to upgrade. Due to the price if I knew that others here would of used it, I would of brought Office 365 instead. But all in all I don't think its all that bad, its more a getting use to all the changes all at once.

office is great but outlook doesn't step up to the mark. I think it is a technical issue but still haven't sorted it, bought the suite on recommendation from Microsoft but they want me to pay more to sort it. Had it two weeks. pretty miffed

Easy to use

Outlook is great, it's so much easier to have emails, calendar and contacts in one place, no searching needed!

Great Value

Easy download, quick and simple to use, well worth the cost.

Microsoft Office

Have used Microsoft office for many years on previous computers. Installed Excel and Word Processor seamlessly on new computer and have transferred data from previous computer without problems including my major private/business spreadsheets.. I find the new Edge search engine very efficient

Best product ever made by Microsoft

Best product ever created by Microsoft, very user friendly, fast and reliable, however says otherwise should not be using this product
