An awful updated version of a classic game..... AVOID!

Cash in and forced 30 second ads

Absolutely hateful. This game hates people who enjoy minesweeper. Forced 30 second ads, subscription fees and a horrible garish colour setting that cannot be changed. Go online and find any number of the good free minesweeper clients. The daily challenges were a nice change but forced 30 second ads every single one is not acceptable. DO NOT GIVE THIS KIND OF THING MONEY!

They broke it!!!

It was my favourite of the Microsoft Arkanium games but with the latest version they romved the Windows 10 ability to maximize/restore/move the app so now it only works full screen on the main screen of the laptop and can not be moved to the HD monitor. Edit on 19/12/15: Still NOT fixed. This is something they removed and did NO regression testing to make sure they broke nothing with the changes. Also the commands icon is visible but nonfunctional. There have been several major bug fixes with Windows 10 and Solitaire collection but this is still broken!! Still broken in January now and tried on new tablet... Does not know how to run from SD card as I set to save my apps on my SD card n my system storage settings.

Good old Minesweeper but...

This is easily the best version of minesweeper I have played. the core game looks good and the addition of the adventure mode and daily challenges really add to the game. but that's where the downside shows itself, the daily challenges are ad supported, you have to watch a full size TV advert to access it or pay a subscription to remove the ad... If you only want the basic Minesweeper experience from previous versions of windows then this is everything you want. but the extra features are ad supported/subscription supported.

Why do you always do this Microsoft?

On my Windows 7 laptop I used to play Minesweeper and Solitaire on the side, while waiting for programs or pages to load. These versions take longer to load than every other program, and I'm presented with an Xbox dialogue box every time. If I were a serious gamer with an Xbox profile, I would probably not be playing casual desktop games. It also seems less responsive to keyboard controls than the previous version, so mines go off when the shift key is down. And the unnecessary space around the edges mean the numbers are unclear unless you play full screen. Why do you always overcomplicate things? If I hadn't invested so much of my time setting up this laptop, reviewing privacy settings, and removing bloatware, I would take it back and get another Windows 7 one. When this one breaks or gets stolen or whatever, I'm buying a Chromebook.

Really fun app, almost perfectly copies the desktop version. There's just one big problem - my Lumia 920 overheats like crazy after just 5 minutes of playing. It needs reworking since the game, well it is minesweeper, no need for"uuber" graphics.

Classic minesweeper... With a ton of annoying adverts. Pure greed has turned this classic game into an absolute money grabbing disgrace. It would "almost" be acceptable if the adverts were plain banner ads, but their mainly flashy attention grabbing bouncing adverts for ethically questionable websites, that slows down the gameplay, gets in the way of playing when your zoomed in, and often lags the game enough when loading a new advert that a flag operation will often detonate the mine you were trying to flag. Surely Microsoft isn't so poor it needs meager advertising dollars from a minesweeper remake? Avoid this game.

A game designed by Microsoft for a windows phone that is impossible to play on a windows phone

good fun. when it works

The classic minesweeper game and the daily challenges are fine but .......... Loved the adventure game until sections of the screen stopped being displayed (bottom rowa and right hand rows with the exit. As it originally worked (for about a week), it is clear that something has been corrupted. Un-installing and re-installing doesn't help so either the uninstall process doesn't clear everything (typical Microsoft) or the corruption is in the Xbox database. Either way it well past time that it was fixed.

Good implementation of minesweeper, but gets very hot, eats up a huge amount of battery, and has the same obnoxious ads from 90's internet
