XCOM 2 is the sequel to XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the 2012 award-winning strategy game of the year. Earth has changed and is now under alien rule. Facing impossible odds you must rebuild XCOM, and ignite a global resistance to reclaim our world and save humanity. • XCOM ON THE RUN: Take command of the Avenger, an alien supply craft converted to XCOM’s mobile headquarters. New open-ended gameplay lets you decide where to guide your strike team, how to grow popular support, and when to combat enemy counter-operations. • RECRUIT RESISTANCE FIGHTERS: Five soldier classes, each with its own skill tree, let you create specific soldiers for your tactical plan. • TACTICAL GUERRILLA COMBAT: New gameplay systems offer more tactical flexibility in combat. Use concealment to ambush enemy patrols. Loot enemies for precious gear and artifacts. Rescue VIPs and save fallen comrades by carrying them to the extraction point. • A NEW BREED OF ENEMY: A diverse cast of enemies from powerful new alien species to the ADVENT, enforcers of the alien regime, offer a distinct tactical challenge. • RESEARCH, DEVELOP AND UPGRADE: Configure and build rooms on the Avenger to give XCOM new capabilities on the battlefield. Use your Scientists and Engineers to research, develop and upgrade weapons and armor to fit your preferred tactics. • EACH MISSION IS A UNIQUE CHALLENGE: Go on missions around the world, from wildlands to the heart of the alien-controlled megacities, to the depths of alien installations. There are virtually infinite combinations of maps, missions and goals. • ENGAGE IN HEAD-TO-HEAD MULTIPLAYER: Mix-and-match squads of humans and aliens and battle head-to-head on randomly-generated maps.

Once again addictive and rewarding. The only downside is the bugs and can be glitchy. These should in time get fixed. However you will without a doubt get your money's worth. Great game overall!

So Tough and VERY rewarding

I loved the last game and i think this is even better. You'll agonise over every decision you make, you'll feel pain when you lose a favourite soldier, curse the RNG Gods when you miss an important shot, and your heart will fall when you unexpectedly discover more enemies, BUT you'll learn, you'll get better tactically, and although there are painfull moments there are also air-punching 'YESSSS' moments. Highly recommended if you like a challenge.

Love XCOM, must buy if you like in depth turn based games where its easy to pick up but takes work to master.. enemies you defeat can be braught back for your scientists to pick apart, for you too engineer better gear for your warriors. full of different ways of playing, great fun and defo worth the price for digital deluxe. I hope too see xcom continue to grow.

XCOM was great this is even better!

Aliens are so much stronger than you at first and it feels like they don't have the balance right, then you start getting an equal footing and it feels so satisfying... but you will still lose squad members! which in fact is also why the game is so great, the whole game gives you a real sense of achieving something. The AI of the aliens is a lot higher and a failed mission could lose you the game... The missions are much more varied, the game play is a lot more in-depth, you can design a pool of characters that are then brought into the game and as for the graphics... well they were never really that important for these types of games, but XCOM 2 shows it is possible to have the in-depth of game play and amazing graphics with so much detail... during some missions your squad's faces appear on electronic wanted posters! If you have never played this type of turn based game then XCOM 2 would be worth a try... It's good enough to get me to write this review without a keyboard!

A few annoyances

My only few annoyances are the 30fps lock and some screen tearing, but apart from that amazing game.

The most exciting news of 2016 is nearly here. The vanilla version got big love from critics, including my favourite AngryJoe. Since looked at the pc version and watched Chris Odds excellent youtube series. But Im a console gamer by choice and I can't wait til 30/09/16 (uk release&date format) If you like strategy, and enjoy TBS games like civ5 then this is for you. I sunk many hours into xcom.... from the original microprose game to EU &EW, and can see many hours invested in this one.

Whats the point of buying thats slow boring and with computer ai that cant shoot a fracking alien its stood right next to with a fracking mini gun, let alone every other weapon, its a total waste of both time and money, thers no fun to the game no freedom to do what you want its a case of do this and only this then die and repeat, same old game with slightly increased graphics.

Why don't you own this yet?

If you like XCOM : Enemy Unknown or Enemy Within. Then this is a worthy successor. The game as of now is in a stable condition with minor bugs such as enemies not taking turns or simply having no models. But this doesn't take away the fun from it at all. I highly recommend this to people in to strategy games. In regards to the DLCs Id recommend buying them with the game as it adds fun new features to the game. note: This game is not responsible for any loss of sanity.
