One Microsoft Court.
One Microsoft Court is home to Microsoft Engineering Teams in Ireland. Built in line with Microsoft’s engineering space principles, every detail was created with the needs of Engineers in mind.
Jeff: One Microsoft Court is home to Microsoft Engineering in Ireland. Over 700 Engineers will work, collaborate and innovate here. It’s a thriving ecosystem that empowers engineers to be their authentic selves. This space puts digital transformation first. Built in line with Microsoft’s engineering space principles, every detail was created with the needs of engineers in mind. From the neighbourhoods engineers work in, to the spaces we have created to help them get away from it all when they need to; like the Atrium retreat, and our restaurants and cafés.
Dunja: Collaboration and innovation are central to the culture of Microsoft Engineering. Being able to connect with not only your team members but people across the organisation is crucial. These connections inspire better solutions for our customers, partners and ultimately the world.
This culture exists in One Microsoft Court and beyond, extending to our new hybrid workplace. Chats over coffee have been replaced with informal syncs over Teams. Events like Fix, Hack, Learn and our Science Fair have gone online, as have clubs like the Data Club. Events and groups like these give employees the freedom to fix and hack solutions that they might not get to day-to-day, share their insights with their colleagues.
Whether you work remotely or in the office, one of the cultural pillars in Microsoft Engineering is innovation. Spaces like The Garage bring people from different teams together so they can get ideas from each other and understand the innovative solutions being developed, not just in their own team, but across engineering.
Linda: The Garage is a worldwide Microsoft programme that puts Microsoft’s cultural pillars into action. We offer employees the freedom to innovate, learn and experiment outside of their day job. Failure is a part of that process. It’s a safe space to let your creative juices flow. To fail, learn from that failure and take those learnings back to your work.
But when you succeed, the possibilities are endless. Garages around the world have harnessed the ingenuity of engineers to develop world-changing solutions. FarmBeats is democratising AI for farmers around the world. The Xbox Adaptive Controller was made to make gaming accessible to those with limited mobility. And that’s just a couple of our projects.
The Dublin Garage is the home of hacking on our campus. The hub is designed to inspire cross-pollination of ideas. Here you can collaborate with business teams, customers and the local and regional ecosystem of innovators, start-ups and partners. The Makerspaces are designed to inspire creativity. These areas allow employees to further explore their creative projects and learn along the way.
Fiona: Driven by our growth mindset, our engineering capability is continuing to grow and expand. We're getting exciting investment and projects and Ireland is central to the company’s global strategy.
The work we’re doing is leading edge and our skillset is constantly evolving, breaking into new disciplines like data science, AI, machine learning and site reliability. It's an exciting time to be an engineer at Microsoft Ireland.
