Cleavon Little



Black lead actor. He studied drama in New York, then made his way to Broadway, where he established himself as a talented lead. For his work in the Broadway play Purlie he won a Tony. He debuted onscreen in What's So Bad About Feeling Good? (1969). He is best remebered as the sharp-witted sheriff in Mel Brooks' comedy Blazing Saddles (1974).
