Microsoft Research India (MSR India),Bangalore, was established in January 2005. In keeping with the global mission of Microsoft Research, the India lab is engaged in cutting-edge basic and applied research in multiple fields in cutting edge technology in computing, mutilingual systems, sensor networks and geographical information systems. It also collaborates extensively with the Indian and international scientific community and other Microsoft research labs to help push forward the boundaries of research.

Microsoft India (R&D) Private Limited, a subsidiary of Microsoft Corporation, set up its India operations in Hyderabad in 1998. Over the past 18+ years, it has expanded to become one of Microsoft Corporation’s largest R&D centers outside its headquarters in Redmond. It is a part of Microsoft Corporation’s strategy of global shared development where teams across geographies collaborate to build great software and services. Our development teams are aligned to four engineering groups at Microsoft Corporation, namely,Application & Services (A&S), Cloud & Enterprise (C&E),Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS) and Operating Systems (OS) .

Microsoft Core Services Engineering and Operations India is responsible for security, infrastructure, messaging and business applications for all of Microsoft, including support of the product groups, corporate business groups, and global sales and marketing organization. This includes supporting desktop, integrated communications, network and global data centers. The business unit works on applications to run the business of Microsoft and enables end-to-end company-wide processes to function seamlessly.

With presence in India and across regions like North Asia – Japan & China, EMEA - Poland and LATAM, Microsoft Services Global Delivery gives scale, agility and value to Services customers across the world.

Microsoft Corporation India (Pvt) Ltd , is the marketing subsidiary. It commenced its operations in India in 1990, and today has offices in ten cities - Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Gurgaon and Pune. The entity is engaged in consulting and marketing of Microsoft products.
Microsoft India Global Technical Support Center (IGTSC), Bangalore, was established in October 2003. The center is an integral part of Microsoft's Customer Service and Support (CSS) organization, providing technical resolution services to Microsoft's English-speaking Enterprise customers and partners across geographies. It is a final point of resolution for enterprises that leverage Microsoft technologies in their global networks. The center works towards helping enterprises optimize their IT investments and keep their businesses productive around the clock.
