See it in action
Advocating for people seeking asylum
Using speech-to-text AI and an Azure database, Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project (ASAP) works with volunteers and legal aid organizations to assist families fleeing persecution in their home countries. AI helps ASAP track changing court dates and prioritize cases most urgently in need of legal services.
Helping to monitor human rights violations
We’ve collaborated with the Clooney Foundation for Justice to create innovative technology that can empower human rights trial monitors to capture multiple types of data in one place—and extract the information needed for experts to assess the fairness of a trial.
Putting vulnerable people on the map
Microsoft Philanthropies and Bing Maps, are partnering with Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT) to improve the reach of humanitarian action through open mapping of vulnerable areas. HOT is building an AI-assisted workflow in their mapping platform, Tasking Manager, to enhance mapper experience.
Partnering to predict and prevent famine
In partnership with the World Bank, the United Nations, and tech industry partners will be better able to predict when and where future famines will occur—allowing organizations to respond earlier and more effectively, potentially saving more lives.
Extending the ability to help more children
Nonprofit partner Operation Smile uses a facial modeling algorithm and Microsoft Pix to improve their surgical outcomes and help more children in need of facial surgeries.
