After all, our mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. We believe that to accomplish this, we need to ensure access and inclusion for underrepresented communities. Since Satya Nadella\u2019s public commitment to combatting racial injustice, we have expanded programs designed to increase representation and create a more inclusive economy for minorities, women, and those differently abled.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft\u00a0partners are in a unique position to power\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/aka.ms\/partners\/inclusive-economy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">inclusive economic\u00a0recovery and\u00a0<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/aka.ms\/partners\/inclusive-economy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ee\">growth and<\/span><\/a>\u00a0realize a future that is greater for us all.\u00a0Because of that,\u00a0we believe by establishing cultural alignment across the ecosystem, Microsoft and our partners can become a force for sustainable change that\u2019s good for the world and good for business.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s estimated that achieving parity between Black-owned and white-owned businesses would add <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mckinsey.com\/industries\/public-and-social-sector\/our-insights\/building-supportive-ecosystems-for-black-owned-us-businesses\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$290 billion<\/a> to the US economy. By simply reducing the attrition of women in technology by 25% could add <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womentechcouncil.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/WTC_Inclusion_Report_2019.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hundreds of thousands<\/a> of people to a high-demand talent pool.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u00a0have to\u00a0embrace the same speed and mindset that we do in anticipating and building for future technological shifts,\u201d Satya Nadella said regarding diversity &amp; inclusion, in a <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.microsoft.com\/blog\/2020\/06\/05\/change-in-ourselves-helps-drive-change-in-the-world\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter to employees<\/a>. \u201cEach day, we work to bridge the gap between the culture we espouse and our daily lived experience, but we must do more and do it faster.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This is the challenge for all of us. We recognize that diversity and inclusion is a complex and urgent journey.
