Community Code of Conduct

Responsibilities, Benefits, and Participation Requirements

August 2025

This Code of Conduct applies to all users of the Microsoft Business Applications Communities: Agent Creator Community, Dynamics 365 Community, and Power Platform Community (“Community”).

Member Qualifications

The Community is designed for individuals 13 years of age or older.

Member responsibilities

As a participant of this Community, you agree that you will uphold this Code of Conduct and are responsible for all activities and content you post/upload.

In addition to upholding this Code of Conduct, you are responsible for adhering to all applicable local and national laws.

This is your Community. Help us to keep it safe, friendly, fun, and helpful.

Do:

  • Be polite and respectful in your posts, and in your replies to other people.

  • Keep conversation threads on track and constructive. It’s okay to disagree with another member’s post, but don’t take the thread off track to do so.

  • Cite the source of anything you post or upload if it isn’t your own original content. Be honest about your sources.

  • Keep it clean. No profanity, obscenity, insulting or bigoted comments please.

  • Search to see if a question you’d like answered has already been posted by somebody else. Posting the same question repeatedly and starting multiple threads on the same subject can be confusing.

  • Report any kind of abuse you find in the Community. You will find “Report” links in every post.

Don’t:

  • Divert or change a thread for your own purposes; just start a new thread with the subject you want to discuss.

  • Post questions that are the same or similar to questions you have already posted. When someone has an answer to your question, that person will respond to you.

  • ‘Bump’ or otherwise post a reply to raise visibility of or gain attention to a post without contributing anything new to the discussion.

  • Use of ALL CAPs in your posts and post titles. This can be perceived by some as ‘yelling’ online and should be avoided.

  • Use the Report or other Community features to harass, silence, or disagree with another member’s content. If you believe another member is incorrect, please politely note the inaccuracy and include your own answer or correction where applicable. Assume the other member posted with good intent.

  • Threaten, stalk, insult, victimize or intimidate anyone (or group of people) for any reason, including on the basis of age, gender, disability, ethnicity, sexual orientation, race or religion.

  • Incite other users to threaten, stalk, insult, victimize, or intimidate another person or group of people.

  • Harass, insult, tease, or correct other members about the grammar or content in their posts. There are a wide range of experience levels and cultures within our Community. Please keep all your responses focused on solving the problem rather than pointing out failures of the poster to write about or have knowledge of the products as you expect.

  • Post content depicting nudity of any sort, including full or partial photographic human nudity, or nudity in cartoons, fantasy art or manga.

  • Post chain letters.

  • Solicit work in the form of job advertisements, recruitment activities, or requests for employment, or seek to collect contact information for the purposes of soliciting work or employment.

  • Request money or items of value, either directly or via links to patronage, crowdfunding, or payment sites (such as buymeacoffee or venmo.com).

  • Link to websites that require payment to access information.

  • Post information that is confidential or that you are contractually obligated not to disclose.

  • Post links to external sites that violate this Code of Conduct.

Things that will get you immediately banned from this community:

  • Posting content that is intended to harm or exploit minors in any way, including collecting the personally identifiable information (PII) of any minor (anyone under 18 years old), including, but not limited to: name, email address, home address, phone number, or the name of the minor’s school.

  • Invading anyone’s privacy by attempting to harvest, collect, store, or publish private or personally identifiable information, such as passwords, account information, credit card numbers, addresses, or other contact information without that person’s knowledge and willing consent.

  • Posting content or link to content that is illegal or violates any applicable local or national laws.

  • Posting or spreading viruses, worms, malware, or other software intended to harm another user’s computer.

  • Impersonating a Microsoft employee, agent, manager, host, administrator, moderator, another user, MVP, or any other person through any means.

  • Pirating Microsoft software or products, or offering pirated software or products for sale, including posting product keys.

  • Specifically violating Microsoft licensing or terms, such as posting content or links that will install a 3rd party kernel or evade security measures built into the software.

  • Promoting or otherwise facilitating the purchase and sale of ammunition or firearms.

  • Posting ‘spam,’ ‘pyramid schemes,’ ‘affiliate marketing,’ or unsolicited commercial advertisements of any kind, including advertising for money making schemes, discount cards, credit counseling, online surveys, or online contests.

  • Posting content about organizations, topics, products, or services to optimize their search engine rankings.

  • Attempting to manipulate the Community site, or other community features, including ranking and reputation systems, by violating any of the provisions of this Code of Conduct, colluding with others on voting, or using multiple profiles.

  • Offering to make international money transfers for amounts exceeding the asking price of an item, with intent to request a refund of any portion of the payment.

  • Using any form of automated device or computer program that enables the submission of postings without the express written consent of Microsoft Corporation.

Artificial Intelligence usage policy

Use AI responsibly

AI can be a big help in the Community, assisting in getting answers faster and more efficient. Here are some dos and don’ts on the use of AI in the Community.

Do

  • Always double-check AI answers before posting. While AI can quickly come up with solutions, it’s not perfect. Always check the answers it generates by comparing them to reliable sources or consulting with experts. This ensures the information is accurate and helps keep the Community’s reputation strong.

  • Use AI to evaluate your answer. By using AI as a partner, it can often provide additional context or point out areas you hadn’t considered prior to posting.

  • Use AI to rewrite a question you’re posting to include some missing details that will make it easier for someone to answer your question.

  • Use AI to generate sample data or code in support of an example. Just be sure to double-check the code to ensure it makes sense.

  • Quote or paraphrase AI in support of your own answer. For example, “I asked Copilot, and it said…. I agree with that, but I’ll add that…”

  • Respond to any follow-up queries about your use of AI in your post.

Don’t

  • Copy and paste AI-generated answers into the Community without verification. While AI is a valuable tool, it isn’t always correct, and can provide detailed answers that look correct, but are not.

  • Conceal the use of AI. If your answer was written in concert with AI, be forthright about it to ensure that others have an opportunity to review or vet your response for accuracy.

  • Deploy an answer bot. With the use of Computer Using Agents (CUA), some tasks like reviewing questions and generating answers can now be fully automated. Similar to copying and pasting answers, a CUA tool may post incorrect answers that diminish the value of the Community for all users.

Moderator actions for AI-generated content

If a moderator suspects AI-generated content on the Community that does not adhere to this guidance, they should take the following steps:

  1. Reply to the content with a comment asking to cite sources if it was AI generated, and referencing these guidelines.

  2. If the user doesn't respond to the notice or fails to make the necessary changes, moderators may remove the content.

  3. If the user repetitively fails to adhere to these guidelines, the user may be banned.

By following these guidelines, AI can be a valuable tool in the Community, providing helpful, accurate answers while keeping the Community’s trust intact.

Community Member Cautions

  • Be very cautious about accepting direct help from another member. If that member suggests to use Remote Assistance to help you, be aware that they will have access to your computer, and that your computer could be hacked.

  • If you volunteer to help another member through Remote Access, be very careful not to harm their computer in any way, or to access information that is not openly made available to you. Abuse of Remote Access will not be tolerated, and will result in your being banned from the Community.

  • Be careful when posting your Personally Identifiable Information (PII), or when posting information you own or have rights to, but is otherwise sensitive, including in personal spaces such as your Community profile or Messages. If you include your email address in a post, it may be used for any purpose by the general public, as this Community is publicly available.

  • Don’t post information that could be used by others to steal your identity, like your street address, your phone number, your national identification or social security number, or your credit card number.

  • The primary language of the Community is English. However, members may occasionally post in other languages from time to time or may respond in languages that differ from the original post. We encourage the use of tools to translate content to or from English to facilitate international conversation; however, the accuracy and quality of these tools is the responsibility of the member. If you use such tools to post, we recommend that you are transparent about their use and include both the original version and the translated version in your post. As a member reading others’ translated posts, please assume the poster’s good intent and avoid making assumptions about their tone or usage.

You assume all risk for your use.

  • You understand that posting content or submitting material is voluntary, and you are under no obligation whatsoever to provide any submissions or contributions. You are solely responsible for your dealings with any third party that relates to your use of the Community, or any information or materials you obtain from a third party.

User Group Terms of Use

Microsoft is dedicated to empowering every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. User groups are supported by Microsoft, led by the community.

Acceptance of Terms

These terms and conditions (“T&Cs”) are a legal agreement between you, as the group leader (“you” or “your”) of the specific group (the “Group”) that you are applying to participate in the  Microsoft Community (“Community”) user group program, and Microsoft (“Microsoft”, “we”, “our” or “us”).

By participating in the Community user group program (the “Program”), you agree to be bound by these T&Cs, represent that you are 18 years or older, and have authority to bind the Group. If you do not accept these T&Cs, then you will not be allowed to participate in the Program.

Microsoft reserves the right to update these T&Cs at any time without notice to you. The most current version of the T&Cs can be reviewed by clicking on the T&Cs link.

Description of Program

The Program connects technical user groups from across the globe and all backgrounds with resources and tools to expand their knowledge of Microsoft technologies.

Local user groups provide an opportunity for makers, users and those interested in learning new technologies to meet up with other professionals, students, and enthusiasts in their area. These groups provide an environment for networking, learning new skills, collaborating on projects, and sharing expertise. Community user groups connect local user groups with each other, with Microsoft experts, and with the broader Microsoft technical community.

Program Privacy; Communications Policy

Your participation in the Program is subject to Microsoft’s Privacy Statement, which is located at https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=521839.

To request a copy or removal of the personal data that Microsoft has collected as part of your participation in the Program, email d365ppc@microsoft.com (requests submitted only apply to data related to the Program). Removal of personal data could result in your group’s removal from the Program.

Participation in the Program, at times, requires two-way communications. If Microsoft, at its sole discretion, believes that you are not making best efforts to respond to communications from Microsoft that require your response, then Microsoft may remove you and the Group from the Program.

If you would like to stop receiving communications from Microsoft, you may do so by electing to leave the Program at any time.

Program Benefits

Your participation in the Program may provide you with access to certain benefits, such as early access to technical content, a channel to communicate directly with Microsoft team members, and monthly Program updates (collectively, the “Benefits”).

Some of the Benefits will require you to use your Microsoft or community account. The Benefits are for use by the Group as a whole, and you may only share the Benefits with members of the Group. You may not otherwise transfer, sell, share, sublicense, assign, or lend the Benefits, unless expressly indicated by Microsoft. Your access to and use of the Benefits are subject to the terms of these T&Cs and any separate license terms that accompany them, or that you are required to accept prior to accessing a Benefit. As part of the Community user group program, groups receive support, inspiration, a deeper connection to the Microsoft community, and the following benefits:

Curated content

Be one of the first people to hear about new content and initiatives from the Microsoft teams. Access presentations, labs, videos, skill challenges, and other content designed for use in your user group meetings.

Regular user group leader calls will be led by the Microsoft Community Success Team and will allow leaders to connect with other evangelists and Microsoft experts, share best practices, and learn from other community leaders.

User group leader hub

As a leader of a user group, you will have access to the Community - Leaders Hub on the Microsoft Tenant. This is a dedicated hub where you can connect with other members of Community user groups and the Microsoft team in the Discussions; read about important news, updates, and features in the Blog; and share best practices, suggestions, and other inspiration in Ideas.

Group leaders and co-leaders will be granted access to the leader’s hub on the Microsoft Tenant after your user group has been created in the Community user group experience.

Resources and tools

Whether you are hosting in-person or virtual meetups, you can find useful resources and tools to support your meetings. Check out Community to find or share content.

User group leaders

Anyone can apply to be a user group leader; all user groups will be reviewed for approval by our user group coordinators. User group leaders that submit a group that shares the same user group name or city/region upon submission will be alerted that there is a group already in existence in that same city. These submissions will be reviewed by our user group advisory board as well to uphold consistency and historical precedence in user group leadership.

Program Participation Requirements

Throughout the duration of the Group’s participation in the Program, the Group will:

Have a group leader who has accepted these T&Cs. We highly suggest a co-leader as a best practice, but it is not required.

To join the Community user group program, your group must meet the following criteria:

Consistent activity

We require all user groups to host a minimum of 4 events per year, either virtually or in-person, or any combination of the two.

Fee-Free

To lower the barrier to entry and ensure access is available to as many participants as possible, User group leaders should not charge an admission fee for meetings. However, certain pass-through costs are allowed (i.e., venue, beverage, and other hosting fees).

Group leadership

Groups participating in Community user group experience are asked to identify a group leader and are highly encouraged to have a co-leader who will act as the primary and secondary contacts for the group. This ensures that if the leadership of a group changes over time, the group will not be orphaned due to lack of valid contacts.

Group Removal from the Program

Failure to meet any of the Program requirements throughout the duration of the Group’s participation may result in the Group’s removal from the Program. We may also remove the Group or suspend the Group’s participation in the Program at any time if we suspect that the Group has violated any of these T&Cs. Unless Microsoft believes an immediate suspension is required, Microsoft will provide you reasonable notice before removing the Group from the Program.

Leadership changes

We understand operations and leadership of groups may change over time. If the group leader is leaving the group, the Program team should be notified via email by the group leader at d365ppc@microsoft.com to ensure group information is updated. In order for the Group to continue as part of the Program without suspension, the notification to Microsoft must identify the new group leader or co-leader.

Leaving the Program

You may choose to remove the Group from the Program at any time by referencing the information on this page. If the Group leaves the Program, it will no longer receive related communications from Microsoft and no longer have access to Benefits. We would like to hear from you regarding this at d365ppc@microsoft.com.

No Solicitation Guidelines

To create an environment that is free from unwanted solicitation, we ask all participants to agree to the following guidelines:

  • Refrain from soliciting or marketing their services or products or affiliated third-party vendors to members of the user group(s). This includes, but is not limited to, email, phone calls, direct mail, social media, online forums, special interest groups, local user group meetings, and other user group events.

  • We ask all participants to share their deep knowledge of the product and their thought leadership. Contributions should be free of promotional messages (including, but not limited to, promotion of Partner products, services, training, and events), and sales activities are strictly prohibited. This includes messages posted to the discussion boards and messages sent directly to an individual.

  • Participants’ contributions should be unbiased and free of any conflict of interest. As such, please refrain from making comments about affiliates or competitors’ products, services, or other offerings.

Prohibited Uses

You or the Group will not use the Program:

  1. To try to gain unauthorized access to or disrupt any Microsoft or third-party service, device, data, account, or network.

  2. To financially enrich yourself, any member of the Group, or any third party.

  3. In a way prohibited by law, regulation, governmental order, or decree.

Program Termination or Suspension

We may suspend or terminate the Program at any time at our sole discretion. We will give you notice before we suspend or terminate the Program, except in cases in which we reasonably believe we need to suspend or terminate the Program immediately.

Providing Feedback

If you or the Group gives feedback about any Microsoft software, products, services, or documentation, you give to Microsoft, without charge, the right to use, share and commercialize your or the Group’s feedback in any way and for any purpose. You or the Group will not give feedback that is subject to a license that requires Microsoft to license its software, products, services, or documentation to third parties because Microsoft includes your or the Group’s feedback in them. These rights survive the T&Cs.

Waiver and Severability

The failure of Microsoft to exercise or enforce any rights or provisions in these T&Cs will not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. If any part or provision of these T&Cs is found to be unenforceable, such part or provision may be modified to make the T&Cs as modified legal and enforceable. The balance of the T&Cs will not be affected.

Relationship with Microsoft

You acknowledge that your participation in the Program does not create a partnership, agency, or employer-employee relationship with Microsoft or any of its suppliers. Neither you nor the Group will make any statements on behalf of Microsoft or its suppliers about Microsoft or its suppliers, or any of Microsoft’s or its suppliers’ products or services.

Website Terms of Use

The Website Terms of Use apply to your use of the Program website including any help topics, white papers, data sheets and FAQs that are made available as part of the Program. For more details refer to https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=206977.

We do not tolerate any behavior that is degrading to any gender, race, sexual orientation, or disability, nor do we tolerate any behavior that would be deemed harassment or discrimination. Individuals are responsible for knowing and abiding by our standards and we encourage everyone to assist in creating a safe and welcoming environment.

  • Remember that sometimes it is best to refrain from commenting.

Be respectful and inclusive

  • Respect differences of opinion.

  • Seek to understand and build bridges, not condemn or criticize.

  • Make a conscious effort to include people who differ from you.

Be open and curious

  • Assume good intent and interpret others’ statements or questions in good faith.

  • Ask questions to understand, not denounce.
