Inside Microsoft
Every day, we strive to create an inclusive environment that brings the power of diversity to life.

We’re accountable to our commitments
Our 2020 Diversity & Inclusion Report tracks our progress on our commitments to increase diversity and foster inclusion at Microsoft and in our broader communities. This year’s report also details our response to the pandemic, investment in allyship, and commitments to address racial injustice.

Five years of positive representation trend
For the fifth year in a row, our demographic data shows modest gains in representation for women and racial and ethnic minorities as a whole. However, we hope to see more improvement, and these data help inform our efforts to reach out to support communities and refine our work.

Disability representation data
Disability is a strength. It is imperative that we continue to actively work to hire talent with disabilities and bring their expertise into our processes, products, and culture at every level. For the first time, we share data on the number of US employees who self-identify as a person with a disability.

Equal pay for women
Women in the US, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Israel, Japan, United Kingdom combined earn $1.00 for every $1.00 earned by men for substantially similar work in these combined geographies.

Inclusion Index
Our 2020 survey results indicate that 88% of employees reported positive sentiments when it comes to factors like authenticity, belonging, and a belief in Microsoft’s commitment to diversity.
Our different experiences connect us
We engage and connect to communities inside and outside Microsoft through several opportunities in partnership with our nine Employee Resource Groups.
