Inside Microsoft
Every day, we strive to create an environment that brings the power of diversity to life; where people with different backgrounds and experiences thrive in both their professional and personal lives—and where we’re all able to channel our passions to help others achieve more.

We support and celebrate each other
We believe our continued success depends on the different experiences and ideas all our employees bring to the table. To help foster diversity and inclusion, Microsoft supports a rich community of Employee Resource Groups (ERG) and Employee Networks. These unique groups can provide career development and networking opportunities, as well as activities that promote community engagement and cultural awareness.
Our different experiences connect us

Black community
In addition to hosting a speaker series and various mentoring programs, Blacks@Microsoft (BAM) encourages students to pursue a career in technology by awarding annual scholarships to outstanding high school seniors.

LGBTQ+ community
GLEAM, the Global LGBTQ+ Employees and Allies at Microsoft employee resource group, works to drive LGBTQ+-inclusive changes to our company policies with executive leadership. GLEAM provides support, advocacy, networking opportunities, external outreach to community non-profits, and promotes educational activities within Microsoft to raise awareness about the LGBTQ+ community and increase ally engagement.

Disability community
Representing employees with conditions such as hearing loss, blindness, visual impairments, ADD, mobility disabilities, and dyslexia, the disAbility ERG drives internal visibility and collaborates with product teams to design, develop, and build accessible, inclusive products. The group awards a scholarship for a high school senior living with a disability.

Military community
Military@Microsoft advocates for current and former military members, spouses, and supporters worldwide. The group works closely with Microsoft Software & Systems Academy (MSSA) to provide transitioning service members and veterans with critical technology career skills.

Asian community
Representing 17 ethnicity groups, the Asians ERG empowers everyone, regardless of life experiences, to achieve more. The group also provides knowledge and insights on technology and business trends for Asian markets.

Parent community
The Parents ERG provides resources, shared experiences and information, and serves as a voice of support for our diverse families across Microsoft. Signature events include Bring Your Kids to Work Day and the annual MS Adoption Fair.

Hispanic/Latinx community
The Hispanic/Latinx Organization of Leaders in Action (HOLA) helps recruit, retain and advance current and future Hispanic/Latinx employees. The group also engages the Hispanic/Latinx community in developing products and services, and serves as a resource for promoting products to Hispanic/Latinx communities and organizations worldwide.

Community of women
Women@Microsoft actively helps to attract, retain, and develop women around the world. Its programs focus on sparking girls’ interest in technology careers, supporting women-focused initiatives and organizations, and providing career and professional development resources for women once they are employees at Microsoft.
