Fix for a known issue with Update Rollup 9 for System Center 2012 R2 Data Protection Manager

We found an issue with DPM 2012 R2 UR9 where DPM may crash if you are protecting Client machines behind VPN or DA

    After installing DPM 2012 R2 UR9 you may see DPM crashing if you are protecting Client workloads, the issue will happen only when client backups are triggered while client is using VPM or DA. You will not be impacted if you don't have any client workloads protected by you DPM server.

  • Please ensure you are currently running DPM 2012 R2 UR9 before applying the fix. The issue is not applicable to older updates and will be fixed automatically in later updates. Please perform the below steps on all DPM servers that are protecting client machines and are seeing DPM crashes: 1. Login to DPM Server as DPM Admin (you should have read/write access to the DPMDB) 2. Click on "Download" button and download UR9ClientFixIssue.ps1 file. 3. Run the PowerShell script downloaded in Step 2 above with DPM Admin privilege. 4. This should fix your issue permanently.
