Microsoft Azure Information Protection Viewer lets you open and view protected files that were shared with you:
- Open and use protected files such as PDF, text files, images and any other file format that has a .pfile extension.
- View your permissions, and print or save the file without protection – if permission allows.
To open and use Microsoft office files, just open the protected file using your Office application (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
To experience classification, labeling and protection, use the Azure Information Protection client:

Sign up to Microsoft Azure Information Protection
To view a protected document, you must sign in to Microsoft Azure Information Protection using your work email address.

Install the Azure Information Protection Viewer:
1. Download the installation file - AZInfoProtectionViewer.exe. Double-click the file to start the installation.
2. Click I agree to install the viewer. When the installation completes, click Finish.
Use the application:
Open a protected file using the viewer by double clicking on the file, or use the 'open with' option on the file's shell explorer menu and select Azure Information Protection Viewer.
