This section lists general issues that occur in Microsoft Dynamics Marketing 2015 Update 1.
For some leads in the sample data provided in a fresh Dynamics Marketing instance, the Company field isn’t populated. And for some leads, the Belongs To field is set to Site Company, whereas the campaign and contact associated with the lead belongs to Contoso (Sample).
There are two ways to reach the marketing engagement view for contacts:
1. Select the contacts of interest in Microsoft Dynamics CRM and move them to the seller portal in Dynamics Marketing. View engagement for each contact one by one.
2. Open the Dynamics Marketing seller portal as described in step 1. Navigate to the Contacts list. Pick one or more contacts and view the engagement.
On the seller portal, the past data of landing pages and events targeted for a customer are shown. However, the responses of the customer to the landing page or event (in terms of registration) are not captured. Consequently, it is not possible to filter the Registered For landing pages or events in the seller portal.
When you add a company with a name that already exists for another company, a system-generated number is added after the newly added company name and after the original company name because company names must be unique.
You can set a Boolean field on the Contact entity (such as Do not email) to true (selected check box) for multiple contacts by using the Mass update button to select the True check box.
However, you cannot clear the True check box by using the same function.
You can import contact and lead records from a CSV file into Dynamics Marketing. If the CSV file contains modified information corresponding to existing records in Dynamics Marketing, the existing records do not get modified.
The hyperlink editor in the email marketing message graphical designer works well the first time. Afterwards, it may show some issues.
Segment-specific content can be sent as part of email marketing messages. It works well when the segment is represented by a marketing list. It may show issues when the segment is a query.
Workaround – Convert the query to a marketing list and use the list as the intended segment.
Cross-campaign rules are in place to prevent email fatigue for individual marketing contacts. If it so happens that all contacts in an entire marketing list (segment) are blocked from sending an email, the email is not sent even to other marketing lists (segments) associated with the email delivery.
If you are using the Microsoft Dynamics Marketing Connector for Microsoft Dynamics CRM, be aware that the connector solution in CRM needs to be upgraded to the latest version. If you are using Dynamics CRM for on-premises, you also need to upgrade the on-premises connector service.
The connector resources are available as an installer, which places the resources on your local computer. From there you can deploy the resources to your Dynamics CRM system or to update the on-premises connector service.
Before running the installer to receive the resources locally, you must uninstall the previously installed version from your local computer. Go to Programs and Features and uninstall the product Microsoft Dynamics Marketing Connector for Dynamics CRM. Now you can navigate to the Dynamics Marketing download center, download and install the matching version of the connector resource installer, and install that locally on your computer.
The For and Campaign fields of Tasks in Dynamics Marketing are mapped to two new custom fields in CRM:
· msdyncrm_assignedfor
· msdynccrm_associatedcampaign
Previously (until version 17.1), both fields were mapped to the Regarding
field in CRM. You can change the default mapping by using the mapping editor.
If you choose to use an iframe to embed a landing page onto a page on your own website, and then link directly to your site’s page from an email message in a campaign, the campaign canvas won’t recognize your link as leading to a Dynamics Marketing landing page. This means that you won’t see a landing page tile on the campaign canvas and, therefore, you can’t refer to the landing page in your trigger logic.
A workaround is to drag a landing page tile onto the email tile, which automatically appends the native landing page URL at the end of the email. Note also, that for triggers to work correctly in this situation, your webpage (the one with the iframe tag) must also include the same tracking scripts as the “website” associated with the embedded landing page.
If multiple users try to modify the campaign flow at the same time, the campaign gets into a corrupted state.
If you try to save a Webinar tile on a campaign automation canvas in an organization where you have not configured webinars, the page stops responding and appears to hang. The workaround is to cancel out of the webinar tile and set up webinars first, then try again.
If you have set up webinars and still encounter this issue, please contact Microsoft support.
If the user navigates to another window while a download is in progress, the download is interrupted and the temporary file is left in the staging area.
To avoid this, we recommend that you do not navigate away from the Silverlight window while the download animation is playing.
A Bing Ads search engine media outlet in Dynamics Marketing shows No records to display when no KPIs (such as clicks or impressions) are observed for campaigns. Ideally, it should display zero as the value against all KPIs that do not find data.
The video playback or preview pages for digital assets do not support chunking or streaming of the video files. In other words, Microsoft Dynamics Marketing waits for the entire video file to download before the Preview, Playback, and Markup pages for video files can open. Depending on the file size, this operation can take a while.
The Silverlight file explorer window will refresh when a file is uploaded or when a download is canceled. Actions running while the window is still refreshing might be lost. Please wait for the Silverlight window to load before running actions.
In Dynamics Marketing, the default names for user-defined fields contain the type of the user-defined field (such as text or numeric). However, the user-defined field names on the Venue entity do not carry their type information.
When you select the Japanese locale and the Emperor calendar and then you try to create a new equipment request for an event, the dates are shown using the Gregorian calendar.
