Manage advertisements

Microsoft Dynamics Marketing's Advertisement management function is designed to track display advertisements, direct mail pieces, banner advertisements, TV commercials, Radio spots, outdoor advertisements, billboards, signs, inserts and more.

Using Advertisements:

Building a library of Advertisements will pay long term dividends:

  • An Advertisement library is the place where users will find all the information about every ad that has been created.

  • Users can specify which Advertisement was used when Media is ordered.

  • Users can track the costs of developing each Advertisement.

  • Users can access and retrieve the digital files of the Advertisements.

View advertisements

To view Advertisements:

  1. On the Home tab, choose Assets & Media.

  2. Under Advertisements, choose Advertisements.

    Microsoft Dynamics Marketing displays the list of Advertisements.

Change sort order for rows

  • Click any column heading to sort the list using in alphabetical order; click it again to sort the list in reverse alphabetical order.

Add columns

  1. Click the Customize Columns button to display the complete list of columns.

  2. Click the column you want to add.

  3. Repeat for each column.

Remove columns

  1. Click the Customize Columns button to display the complete list of columns.

  2. Click to unselect the column you want to remove.

  3. Repeat for each column.

Change the column order

  • Click and drag any column heading to move the column to its new location.

Change the column width

  • Click and drag any column heading to move the column to its new location.

Search items

  • Type in a word, phrase or part of a word into one or more of the Search fields above each column.

    Microsoft Dynamics Marketing displays all the items that contain the word, phrase or part of a word you entered in the field.

  • If you enter information in two or more fields, Microsoft Dynamics Marketing searches for items that contain the word, phrase or part of a word you entered in both fields.

  • To filter by column, click on the filter button to enter a value in the search box, and then pick a filtration type, for example, starts with, ends with, contains, etc.

Remove filters

  • Click Clear to remove the filter.

Microsoft Dynamics Marketing removes the filter and displays all items.

Or,

  • Click the Filter button and select No Filter

Display deleted items

  • Click Show All/ Inactive/Deleted button.

Create new advertisements

To create a new advertisement:

  1. Click the New button. 

    Microsoft Dynamics Marketing opens the new advertisement page.

  2. Enter the details.

Copy advertisements

  1. Select the advertisements that you want to copy by clicking on their check boxes

  2. Click the Copy button .

  3. Click OK.

Delete advertisements

Advertisements can't be permanently deleted. Advertisements can be marked "Canceled"  or "Completed."

  1. Select the advertisements that you want to delete by clicking on its check boxes .

  2. Click the Delete button .

    Microsoft Dynamics Marketing prompts you to confirm the deletion.

  3. Click OK.

    Microsoft Dynamics Marketing deletes the item(s).

Change an item from a component to an advertisement

In releases prior to 6.0 Components and Advertisements were displayed on the same page within Microsoft Dynamics Marketing. Users who created Components in earlier releases can view Components and Advertisements on both the View Advertisements page and on the View Components page. To classify a Component created prior to Release 6.0 as a Component or an Advertisement.

  1. Select the items you want to classify by clicking on their check boxes

  2. Click the Change Type button.

    Microsoft Dynamics Marketing prompts you to select the new type.

  3. Click OK.
