With the new year around the corner, we’re excited to roll out a newly designed Microsoft Education blog that we hope will meet your education needs. We want to foster community, provide you with a go-to place to find all the latest updates and help you feel connected, supported and empowered.
Your input
The site has been updated with your feedback in mind to ensure it’s full of the features you’ve told us you want to see. That means you can expect more stories from other educators using tech tools and other resources to drive improvements in the classroom. We’ll also have plenty from school leaders and EdTech influencers who are changing the way students learn with technology.
And we’re particularly excited to share more stories from Changemakers like you, product news like you find in our What’s New in EDU series—always full of practical classroom advice and the latest updates on free resources and new products, and even more how-to tips in our ‘You Can in :90’ videos.
New features
We improved navigation and included more opportunities to personalize and tailor the blog around your interest and needs on both desktop and mobile devices.
The idea is to deliver the specific content you’re most interested in whether you’re a teacher who wants to know more about free coding resources, a school leader looking for ways to improve accessibility and inclusion, an IT administrator seeking out affordable devices or a student interested in free workshops and camps.
With that in mind, we integrated better filtering options into the revamped site. So now you can easily browse by audience, for example, searching stories written primarily with teachers in mind. Or, you can browse by categories, such as 21st-century education or product news.
To make sure you’re seeing all the content you want, there’s now a button on the bottom of all posts that you can click on to let us know whether you liked an article. That will help ensure you see more content like it.
And we know peer-to-peer learning is important to you. So, we’ve made it even easier to share content you like on social media platforms through better integrated sharing options.
We always love hearing what’s happening in your school community. At the bottom of the new homepage, you’ll see a new section where you can submit content for our Changemaker series. Keep these inspiring stories coming!
We know your time is valuable and limited, so we’ll have key takeaways at the top of each blog post, like you see above, to give you a snapshot of the news, along with the average read time for the article. And, if you’re reading the blog on the go, you’ll see it’s optimized for mobile use.
It’s now easy, right from the homepage or article pages, for you to sign up for the new Microsoft Educator Center newsletter, which can help you stay up to date on training opportunities and other events and resources.
We hope you find the redesigned blog to be a valuable resource that you can lean on and learn from. And, remember, continuous improvement is a core value here at Microsoft Education, so please share your feedback with us on Twitter by tagging @MicrosoftEDU!
