Announcing the TweetMeet of March 17<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

By connecting our students globally, we provide them with hands-on opportunities to experience other peoples\u2019 cultures, stories, languages, diverse living circumstances, opinions and many other aspects of each other\u2019s lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While students engage and collaborate in global projects aimed at a common goal, their mutual understanding increases. At the same time, they learn to reflect on differences and similarities as they gain a better sense of inclusion and empathy. Students can then undertake local or wider-scale initiatives that have actual impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Global projects are increasingly becoming a part of today\u2019s educators\u2019 toolboxes, requiring different mindsets and preparations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With all this in mind, we welcome you to a 75-minute TweetMeet on Tuesday, March 17 at 10am PDT about the topic Becoming Global Changemakers<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even if you\u2019re in class at event time, busy doing other things or asleep \u2013 no problem! All educators are most welcome to join any time after the event. Simply look at the questions and respond to these at a day and time that suit you best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why join the #MSFTEduChat TweetMeets<\/em>?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

TweetMeets are monthly recurring Twitter conversations about themes relevant to educators, facilitated by Microsoft Education. The purpose of these events is to help professionals in education to learn collaboratively and inspire their students while they are preparing for their future. The TweetMeets also nurture personal learning networks among educators from across the globe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When and how can I join?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Join us Tuesday, March 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. PDT on Twitter using the hashtags #Changemakers<\/strong><\/a>, #MSFTEduChat<\/a><\/strong>, and #MicrosoftEDU<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you tweet in English, add #TweetMeetEN. The other language hashtags we use this month are #TweetMeetAR (Arabic), #TweetMeetES (Spanish), #TweetMeetSR (Serbian), and #TweetMeetCY (Welsh).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This month, the US is switching to daylight saving time, while other parts of the world switch later or don\u2019t switch at all. Be sure to double-check your own local event time. You can find the event time for 215 countries with this time zone announcer.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our next recommendation is to set up Twitter dashboard TweetDeck<\/a><\/strong> and add columns for the hashtags and for your favorite hosts. If you are new to TweetDeck, then check out this brief TweetDeck tutorial<\/strong><\/a> by Marjolein Hoekstra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
