It has the potential to do so much good\u2014from enhancing patient experiences to empowering workforce productivity to advancing health equity for improved health outcomes. And leveraging AI is the key to unlocking its full potential across your organization and throughout care delivery. You heard from Alysa Taylor, Corporate Vice President of Azure and Industry and Kenn Harper, Vice President of DAX for our launch session as they explored new ways Microsoft and Nuance will help you use your data and cutting-edge AI innovation to deliver meaningful outcomes across the entire healthcare journey.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Equity Panel Session<\/strong>\u2014Only 5 percent of Americans participate in a clinical trial.1<\/sup> The percentage is even less for women, rural residents, and minority populations.2<\/sup> Although we\u2019ve made strides in addressing inequities within our clinical trials, there are still many gaps. Using AI for clinical trial matching and adhering to a more stringent diversity action plan can help in increasing representation from underrepresented communities. Many health leaders are not accepting this inequitable reality and are actively inventing solutions through partnerships, internal initiatives, and technology in shaping a more inclusive future for medical research. You heard from Hadas Bitran, Partner Group Manager, Health AI, Microsoft Health and Life Sciences and other speakers in a panel discussion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

Health Equity Impact Program:\u202fEthically Harnessing the Potential of Generative AI<\/strong>\u2014During COVID-19, we saw significant adoption of telehealth and other key consumer tools that provided access to healthcare and personal services in a simple, convenient, and on-demand way. Dr. David C. Rhew, Global Chief Medical Officer, Vice President of Healthcare Worldwide Commercial along with Michael J. Pencina, PhD, Vice Dean for Data Science, Professor of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, Director and Marcella Dalrymple, MPH, MBA, Associate Director of Strategic Development and Business Partnerships from Duke AI Health addressed how tech-enabled services and connected platforms continue to expand and play an important role in connecting consumers, especially those in underserved and rural communities, to their appropriate healthcare providers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

Connecting Workplace Culture and Wellbeing<\/strong>\u2014Economic uncertainty coupled with mounting productivity pressure are contributing to a hard truth about the mental health of today\u2019s workforce that organizations must contend with. Four out of ten United States workers report that their job has an extremely negative or somewhat negative impact on their mental health.3<\/sup> Leaders that prioritize the wellbeing of their employees, invest in their culture and values, and embrace an adaptive approach to leadership will reap the benefits of a more engaged, resilient, and loyal workforce. Ryan Roslansky, Chief Executive Officer, LinkedIn and Russell Glass, Chief Executive Officer, Headspace dove into the current state of worker wellbeing and workforce trends, as well as delivered concrete recommendations for how companies and leaders can create a culture of wellbeing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
