Effective May 1, 2017, the existing cancellation policy will be replaced in its entirety with the following policy: Cancelling or rescheduling your exam within 5 business days of your registered exam time is subject to a fee. Failing to show up for your exam appointment or not rescheduling or cancelling your appointment at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment forfeits your entire exam fee.

Existing MCE Certification holders have 1 year from January 4, 2018, to certify on the new exam. After one year, all MCE certifications that were achieved prior to January 4, 2018, will be removed from transcripts.

Candidates for this exam include individuals preparing to become classroom educators, current educators, faculty at teacher training or pre-service colleges, educational administrators, or other professionals looking to provide validation of competency.

The MCE: Technology Literacy for Educators certification test is an intermediate-level examination intended to be a valid and reliable measure of competencies as measured by the 21st Century Learning Design (21CLD) framework.
