Omeed Chandra is a Program Manager on the OneNote team. In this post, he announces a new website where users can share feedback and suggestions for improving OneNote.

On the OneNote team, we love hearing from our customers, and we use your feedback to help us decide what features to build next. The Microsoft Answers forums have long been a great resource for troubleshooting problems, but many of you have wondered how to send us suggestions and requests. Today, we’re excited to announce a new and easier way to send us suggestions on how we can improve OneNote—the OneNote Feedback & Suggestions website.

Our new site consists of two forums, one for OneNote users and one for software developers. In either forum, you can see suggestions submitted by other members of the OneNote community and vote for your favorites. You can also type a short description of your own idea into the “Enter your idea” box. If your suggestion matches an existing one, you can vote for it—you get 10 votes to distribute as you please, and if we fulfill a suggestion you voted for, you’ll get those votes back. Otherwise, you can submit a new suggestion along with a detailed description, as shown in the illustration below.

Although we can’t respond to every piece of feedback, we promise to read and consider each and every suggestion we receive. Wondering how to provide the most effective feedback? The most important thing is to be as specific and detailed as possible. Try including the three W’s:

  • What you’re asking for
  • Why it’s important to you
  • Where you want it (that is, does your request apply to every version of OneNote, or is it specific to a particular device, such as your Windows PC or iPad?)

Basically, the more information you provide, the better we can understand your needs—and that makes it more likely that we’ll be able to address them. So, what are you waiting for? Visit the OneNote Feedback & Suggestions site today and make your voice heard!
