With the choice of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.anthropic.com\/\">Anthropic<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/openai.com\/\">OpenAI<\/a> models for orchestration, chat, and deep reasoning scenarios in Copilot Studio, you have greater flexibility in how you design and optimize agents and workflows to transform business processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anthropic models are available to customers in <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/power-platform\/admin\/early-release\">early release cycle environments<\/a> worldwide today. They will roll out to preview in all environments within two weeks, and be ready for use in production by the end of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-a89b3969 wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button has-custom-width wp-block-button__width-50 is-style-fill is-style-chevron-right\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/microsoft-copilot\/microsoft-copilot-studio\/\" target=\"_blank\">Try Copilot Studio<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"unlocking-the-power-of-choice\">Unlocking the power of choice<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Copilot Studio will continue to use OpenAI as the default model for new agents, and now you&#8217;ll also have the flexibility to choose from Anthropic models, Claude Sonnet 4 and Claude Opus 4.1. &nbsp;You can use these models in Copilot Studio in two ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Orchestration:<\/strong> Build, orchestrate, and manage agents powered by Anthropic&nbsp;models for advanced reasoning, workflow automation, flexible agentic tasks, and tool use.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Prompt builder:<\/strong> The prompt builder drop-down menu makes it simple to choose your optimal model for each scenario.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>With more options and control over model selection, we empower you to choose the best model for your use case &#8211; no matter the industry, function, or process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-get-started-with-anthropic-models-in-copilot-studio\">How to get started with Anthropic models in Copilot Studio<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Admins control how Anthropic models are used within their environment, with clear options for enabling, managing, and restricting access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Opt-in at launch:<\/strong> Anthropic models must first be enabled by your admin in the <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/copilot\/microsoft-365\/connect-to-ai-models\">Microsoft 365 Admin Center (MAC)<\/a> before they can be used across your tenant.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Environment management:<\/strong> Once enabled in MAC, Anthropic will be on by default in the <a href=\"https:\/\/go.microsoft.com\/fwlink\/?linkid=2334706\">Power Platform Admin Center (PPAC)<\/a>. There, admins have additional controls to manage how Anthropic models are accessed by makers in Copilot Studio environments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Automatic fallback:<\/strong> If Anthropic models are disabled, agents built with it will automatically switch to the default model, OpenAI GPT-4o. When building agents, there is no universal solution. The right model is the one that fits your use case.
