Timur Bekmambetov presents Black Lightning, the first Russian superhero action thriller. It's a story about an ordinary Moscow student (Grigoriy Dobrygin), who transforms into a hero, a city defender and a mysterious warrior to fight evil. The action takes place in present day Moscow. The main character is 20-year old Dima Maikov. His father gets him an old "Volga - 21" for his birthday. Dima suddenly realizes that his new car can actually fly, as it is a top secret invention of a soviet backroom laboratory. Dima can now fly over Moscow's terrible traffic jams, until one day a disaster turns his life upside down and makes him reconsider his worldview. From now on, Dima will have to protect the ones he loves and fight against Evil in Moscow sky on New-Year’s eve.
