I love it! It's hard to go wrong with Chess. I did see a few other comments where people were upset because "there's only one camera angle." That's not the case. While in a match, press "X". You have three camera angle options, and one of them is from the top looking down. And in my opinion, you don't need a 2D board with this optional camera angle. Another complaint was a lack of being able to take back moves against a cpu. Again, you actually can. Press "Y" while in a match. I will admit that some of the Chess boards aren't great because you can't see the colors of squares well, but my advice would be to simply not use those boards if it bothers you. Woodburn Manor is great. Basic wood Chess board. And lastly, the music... If you don't like it, you can turn it off in the settings. Combined with a fancy app like Spotify, you can listen to anything you like. All in all, Chess Ultra is exactly what I was hoping for in a Chess game on Xbox.

Chess Ultra aims at casual players, and that's fine. But the glossy graphics actually hurt the game to the point where it's flat out hard to see pieces and squares. In the Musei Capitali environment, a full quarter of the board is obscured by artificial glare. The Gomorrah level is also problematic, with squares that are hard to see. Graphics are the selling point, I know, but a 2D option for board and pieces would be welcome.
