This used to be a free, open-source project. The developer chose to hide it behind the Windows Store paywall. You should look elsewhere for a product that isn't so eager to betray its user's trust.

It does what it should do with a few flaws, but I would say what upsets me the most (hence the 1 star review) is the fact that despite having bought this app, at a steep price may I add, every time I close the app a message pops up asking me for a donation... WTF FileBot????

Review title of CodyGreat App, needs better scaling

The app itself is great! Saves tons of time in naming files and much better than some of the alternatives. The only issue I have with it is that if you're using a higher resolution than 1080p the program gets small and some of the menu and words get cutoff. I'm running 3200x1800 on my laptop and I have issues, however my desktop is 1920x1080 and it works perfectly. This was a common problem when higher resolution monitors first came out but I'm kind of surprised this app has that problem, it's been a long time since I've seen an app not scale properly.

Review title of JonathanResponsive Seller. Complex but powerful.

This is a powerful tool for renaming items. It is also very complex. Without a responsive support team it would not be very usable by the average (non-coder) types out here. Luckily there is a well developed and responsive support site and forums. There are also tutorial videos. I haven't found them very helpful so far, primarily because they are not narrated. Oddly enough, there is sound, but only the sound of mouse clicking and perhaps some heavy breathing. (weird) Overall, I have to give it high ratings, even though I am still trying to accomplish the tasks I purchased it for. I will not lower the star rating because I am a newb. However, it is unnecessarily difficult for a newbie to get up and running. Improved video tutorials would help, that is why I dropped it one star. It is pretty pricey at $19.99, but if the market can bare it, more power to the folks a Point Planck.

Review title of DavidExcellent . . . especially for Plex!

I was leery at first. Spending $19.99 on something when I didn't know how it worked or if it would do what I wanted was silly. However, after trying several others, I finally came back to it & took the plunge and I am glad I did. I use Plex and when I download shows now, it doesn't matter where I d/l them to, I simply open them with FileBot and tell it to rename them. FileBot finds the information, name, ratings, etc., and renames it accordingly. The really cool thing though is that it also puts it where it needs to go. For example, a movie gets named, ratings, actor, director, etc. added, put in the proper category (drama, action, comedy, etc.) and moved to the folder my Plex app looks for movies. Same thing with TV shows, it sorts them by season, creates the folder if not there, etc. Well worth $19.99.

I love this program, and I wish I knew about it sooner. There GUI is easy to use, and once you get comfortable, then you can really take advantage of creating more advanced scripts. Very happy to support the developer of this application!

I use the program a lot to rename TV series and movies in Plex, Filebot is the best program I have found to make this happen. It does not get every single show but using the features and if data is available you can get just about any info. Thanks for a great program.

Review title of joshA perfect beast. Does what it does extremely well

Not a ton to say except this WORKS, exactly how it should, hassle free. Excellent and extremely handy piece of software you've developed. A+ My man. I have a library of over 2000 movies, and I was trying to rename them all, on my own, by hand, in order to make them play nice with Kodi and it was a time consuming nightmare. This program solved it...in like 10 minutes. There were a couple hiccups that i had to do by hand, but i'd say roughly 98% of them it breezed through and saved me major hassle. On top of that the creator is awesome. Super friendly guy. In fact he actually found out that I was doing a little charity work in my spare time and gifted me a license for free! Which is too cool for words Of course free or not if this program didn't work i'd review it as such, but happily that isn't an issue because Filebot is a perfect utility for what is does. I would gladly pay for it. Very well designed. Big thumbs up
