Review title of BrandonGreat version of a great app

Just like its Win32 counterpart, the UWP foobar2000 does exactly what I need it to do: play music without getting in the way. It monitors your music folder for changes and has a super quick and powerful search that easily outperforms that of the app I used before. It also has a bag of audio features I haven't even tried yet. This app gets something close to a 5; I think if it supported playlists/playlist creation (or does it?) it'd be perfect to me. Also, funnily enough, this version doesn't support wma files.

This app just works! - flawless playback quality - Groove glitches into terrible death sometimes - fast - Groove takes a minute to start playing after a phone reboot, foobar starts instantly - perfect progress tracking: It even survives a reboot while playing! Groove doesn't even survive a day of idling - properly implemented shuffle - the list only changes when you add music to your device - proper album images - Groove loves to pick the ugliest image to display for all 'Unknown album' songs - awesome format support - Groove deletes my FLAC files - correct tag reading - Groove claims most of my songs are unknown album - fast library scanning - updated in a minute with 1300+ tracks - support for alternative song locations - clean UI: No sliding up down left and right for different things

I have been a long time fan of the classic foobar2000 desktop application due to its unique combination of sonic transparency, wide configurability, and ease of use. However, foobar2000 mobile continues to have an issue with sonic transparency that has yet to be fixed. I have conducted various blind tests via Sennheiser HD 800 headphones using this player, the classic desktop version of foobar2000, and Groove Music player. For this formal test, I ensured all plug-ins were disabled, and ReplayGain was disabled. Consistently, both classic foobar2000 and Groove Music sound noticeably sharper, better sounding and indistinguishable from one another. However, foobar2000 mobile has a hazy, constrained sound (e.g. cymbals are blurred and suppressed, the antithesis of the HD 800 sound signature) over it compared to the other players, as if (my speculation) a low-quality filtering was being applied to the output. As such, I will not be using foobar2000 mobile until the author fixes this.

love this apps so much. i enjoyed foobar2000 on pc, now UWP..just awesome. but now i missing: -DSP Equalizer -DSP Frequency limiter -ability to edit 3tag directly to mp3 files -ability to scan/edit/apply replaygain directly to mp3 files -spectrum analyzer -skin

So far the sound quality is much better than Groove and it might be slightly better than its Win32 version (or the same using WASAPI). However, it would be better if there will be more playback controls like volumn slider, and support for cue. Also displaying song list for horizontal view will be nice.

Locks up often and sometimes stumbles while playing audio. UI is nice and simple though I don't like how shuffled music is played from a static playlist. Too bad it's not as nice as the desktop version. Basically only use this because I'm using 8.1 and have a lot of flac.

If you're like me and have a collection of several thousand tracks on and SD card, you've probably had issues with Groove. Used foobar on my PC's for years and was delighted to see a mobile version. It works and works well, and is still actively being developed. Keep it up.

Review title of TeialantisFinally, a player worthy of my phone.

I've been using Foobar2000 on my PC for years. You can imagine, perhaps, my delight in seeing Foobar2000 land on Windows Phone. It can only get better, especially if some of the more esoteric sound formats get support in later versions. I miss being able to listen to my SPC collection on the go.
