Foscam Pro allows you use your Foscam IP cameras directly from your phone. Use Foscam cameras to keep an eye on your home, to monitor entrance ways, to ensure your elderly parents are safe, or to check-in on your children. The app is intended for use by domestic Foscam users who have dedicated access to their own cameras. As a security feature some devices and networks may limit the number of users at any one time. Why is the camera not connecting? As a matter of course, check your username, password. and camera settings, as well as your device network and camera network. On a connection error, the application will first try to reconnect, if this fails, a message will be shown in place of the camera video stream, tapping this message will try to reboot that camera remotely. On some occasions, such as multiple users attempting to send too many conflicting changes to the camera, a camera can react to ensure security and sanity by revoking remote connections. In this case the simplest option is to physically restart the camera. I’ve reset the camera, why is it still not connecting? To limit bandwidth usage on mobile devices, the app uses Foscam camera’s MJPEG feed. On HD cameras this uses the sub-stream, which should be configured to send MJPEG content at a quality and rate which both the camera network and the client device network can handle. This is usually found under the “Video” tab of the camera’s settings menu when setting up the camera, consult your camera user manual for detailed instructions on how to set your camera’s sub-stream.
