What a waste. I love fighters but hate this game! Cheap deaths, stupid AI, confusing control layout. I was hoping for a “Streets of Rage” and got just the rage. Stay away!

This game is such a criminal waste of good art assets, because for as nice as the in game pixel art and animations are, they're as good as garbage used for this broken mess of a game. Abysmal difficulty with cheapshot AI coupled with a confusing control set up ruin what should be a sleek beat em up. Also, instead of the expected, and in my opinion, mandatory catchy old school game soundtrack to compliment the action, we're given ambience. Botched, just like the gameplay. What a travesty to throw away those art assets on this mess. 2 stars, just for the art.

Deathtraps with awful clipping. High amounts of platforming.Tedious backtracking to obtain Macguffin x (keys). The trailer made this look like a beat 'em up when it is actually:Go through pitch dark maze of deathtraps and platforming until you find a key. Fight 2 guys, backtrack the maze, unlock door and repeat. The controls are so bad even walking feels awful, so the platforming is especially annoying. If I want to platform I'll play my overpriced Megaman collections. Beat 'em ups died due to lack of innovation, and this is a step back from SOR. No dev gets it: a Beat 'em up needs a lot of attacks so the player can develop a style and to keep it from being repetitive. Extra playable characters is important.No block, no parry, no vaulting and no ability progression. Not surprising when you find out its a GBA port up. How desperate. This was the one time I forgot to research.

way to hard wtf..cant even enjoy a game when u cant get past the second stage so pissed i wasted my money...need an update to make it easier..go to the achievements and nobody can get past stage 2 smh thanks for not letting anyone enjoy the damn game...atleast im not alone on this

Tons of cheap FRUSTRATING shots. No biggie, if the game had a better option setup, but it doesn't. No difficulty setting to choose. It needs to offer a better continue feature to really be appreciated in single player and co-op. An update with these options would at least take away the frustration knowing I have more continues.

This game only gives you 6 lives to finish 5 chapters. It is without a doubt the hardest beat em up ive ever played. Def some good combat art and soundtrack but damn does this game get its cheap shots in. And relic hunter mode is RNG so yeah chances are u get put in a room with enemies spikes fire traps and bats.. have fun with that. Even so i want to finish the main story. Buy at your own risk. As of now after 2 months of saving up my continues i finally beat the game and the 200 gs achievement for doing that didnt pop. To say the least im very pissed. I even beat the last level again and nothing def a glitch that needs to be fixed but prob never will be.

Its a decent game. Shame its getting sunk by a bombardment of poor reviews. The Dpad has abit of a delay when walking, i.e. slow to start and stop moving. But the analog stick, though not ideally nostolgic, has perfect movement response. The default button layout is not great, I changed it immediatley. Punch: X, Kick: Y, and Jump: B, with [Run] as Right bumper. I found that holding [Run] during combos helped with slipping attacks and quickly closing distance when chaining juggles. Enemies only really become challenging when fighting around traps, pitfalls, and harmful environment. The Buff and Debuff spheres arent too bad once you figure out which do what, it will become obvious before the end of Stage 1. The Bats and pitfalls are comparable to what mousers and open manhole covers are on turtles in time, only more abundent and more annoying. I do wish there was online co-op, but solo is plenty fun the first go 'round.

Review title of Trash RandoFun if you like old school brawlers

Best played with a buddy. It's a port of a gameboy advance game but visually looks good. Expect to replay stages often. The game is no cake walk. Docked a point for useless pickups that hurt you.
