Description

Pwn: from the verb own, as meaning to appropriate or to conquer, compromise or control. This app is a simple interface that queries HaveIBeenPwned.com to look up whether your email has shown up in recent prominent data breaches like Adobe, Gawker, and Sony. It's a quick and easy way to see whether you should change your passwords or if your data was safe. In the next update, I hope to add a Live Tile/background task that will periodically check and alert you if you've been pwned. This app was created by Kamran Ayub but the HIBP website is owned and operated by Troy Hunt who has exposed a public API to query the site with. If you like this app, check out my other apps!
