I'll Do Anything tells the story of Matt Hobbs (Nick Nolte), a respectable actor whose jobs have become fewer and further between. With his career in a state of collapse, Matt agrees to become the chauffeur of powerful movie producer Burke Adler (Albert Brooks), eventually catching the eye of Adler's assistant, Cathy (Joely Richardson). Just as a little cash starts flowing in, Matt has to fly to Georgia to pick up his daughter for a "visit"; when he arrives, however, he learns that his ex-wife (Tracey Ullman) is on her way to jail, and he's responsible for a little girl he hasn't seen in two years. Now Matt finds himself not only faced with caring for 6-year-old Jeannie (Whittni Wright), but also eclipsed by her when she is accidentally "discovered" for a starring role in a television series.
