Description

Follow Faith, a daring free runner, as she fights for freedom in the city of Glass. What appears to be an elegant, high-tech city on the outside, has a terrible secret hidden within. Explore every corner from the highest beautifully lit rooftops to the dark and gritty tunnels below. The city is huge, free to roam and Faith in at the center of it all. Through the first-person perspective, combine her fluid movement and advanced combat with the city's surroundings to master the environment and uncover the conspiracy. I've enjoyed playing this game. It serves as a fresh update to it's somewhat dated predecessor, improving on every aspect of itself (in some way). Unfortunately, it seems that DICE has abandoned the game in the wake of the upcoming (and overhyped) Battlefield 1, due to the mixed reviews MEC has gotten since launch. I think that a major overhaul update and a few map expansion DLCs could save the game, for DICE and for Catalyst fans alike. EA needs to return to the city of Glass soon if they want their game to be truly what it deserves to be.

While Catalyst didn't recieve especially good reviews from the professional cynics, we amateur grumpyfaces appear to be heaping solid gold olympic hollas on it. And one thing is undeniable, and universally agreed upon by cool kids and hikkikomori alike. It plays frkn GREAT. The controls were always clever and tight, but with the advent of ME:2, they're finally smooth and utterly, utterly playable. It's the sort of gameplay that just feels good in your hands. No cheap deaths. Running feels clean, easy and all around battlestar FANTASTICA. It's a shame that it's EA money, or we would probably be looking forward to some shiny DLC. As it stands, the best thing we can do support this franchise is to show it to people. For while the story is (comparably) smart and compelling, it's really quite difficult to dislike simply running around in Faith's skin. Oh, my Mirror's Edge would make for an amazing foundation for an MMORPG. (A fellow can dream. It's not as though DICE doesn't know how.. ;)

This game is over the top AMAZING! It is so popular yet in a nobody-knows-about-it way! Definitely recommend it! I consider it as one of EA's most fluid and immersive games ever. Maybe EA will make a sequel to it? Maybe including a certain Faith x Icarus rumor. I can't say how many times I've replayed this game, because I lost track! I don't regret buying it. Mirror's Edge: Catalyst is so worth it! I just would like the '"Connecting Your EA Account" process to easier. Despite that, it's an amazing game! We need a sequel for this EA! Just have a little Faith! 👍❤🙂🎮 -intunepaddy17

This game is downright astonishing. The graphics are gorgeous and the gameplay is more fluid than the previous installment. The beautiful color palettes are a welcome addition too. Ignore the naysayers who think this game is broken. There's a lot of variety and it's just really fun to play. If you're a fan of the first game, you'll love Catalyst. So take a leap of faith and enjoy 🎮

Review title of SamA good, not great successor

I loved the first game back in 08 i think it was when it came out. I was excited about this sequel especially when I think many of us did not think the first would ever get a sequel. This game is really well made clearly with a lot of love. It looks clean and minimlastic and the free running feels just as good as the first game. The graphics are really impressive and the city design itself is well thought out. That being said the game does suffer being open world rather than linear like the first game. My two other criticisms would be that even though it has a good sleek look and is colorful at times the overall color palet and use is way worse than the first game. Finally too much combat. Yes we can't use guns which is true to the first game but why then are there so many forced enounters? Its a good game. A good sequel. But not great as either of those two things either. End review.

Review title of Jazzy SaturdaysGreat Pre-Sequel

I started playing this game and from start to finish and was highly impressed. After waiting for 7 years this was well worth the wait. I loved the challenges as well as the optional quests, which truly made the game feel more like an open world platform compared to it's linear predecessor. I only wish there were more dlc expansions.

Gameplay was an improvement from the first game, but was pretty repetitive and frustrating at times. But I absolutely love the dystopian society theme. I just wish it didn't come at the cost of retconning a lot of the first game. If EA does end up making more Mirror's Edge, it'll take a game just to bridge Catalyst to the original, and then a remake of the original just so it all makes sense.

Review title of Funhaus RyanMost repetitive game ever?

Mirrors Edge 2 is possibly the most boring, repetitive games I have ever played. The first game made gameplay interesting, by having different enviroments and scenarios. This one is almost completely the same environment, and almost always involves combat. The buildings are almost all the same. The is probably only two or three unique places in the game. To fill the void of boring nothingness, the added annoying sidequests where you deliver packages. The game is also somehow less smooth and freeflowing than the first. You mostly find youself jumping, rolling, running in and open space, then repeting the same step. That might sound a bit like Mirrors Edge (1), but trust me, it is not. Mirrors Edge was about getting from place to place quickly and in style, while avoiding conflict, while in unique, complex enviroments. This new one is: run on rooftop, punch 7 guys, jump to next rooftop, punch 7 more guys. Also, is a prequel, but everything about it is pretty futuristic.
