Personally, I love this game. I've played a few of the previous games and found the style to be enjoyable. No, this game will not hold your hand. You are expected to use your head and think. Take your time and observes the monsters' behavior patterns, learn the combos for the weapon you chose, do not button mash, upgrade your gear if you can't kill it before it leaves the area, learn elemental weaknesses, do not be ashamed of running away, pick up everything (even dung is useful) but do not forget to put it in your item box, never sell anything early game and never expect to be godly strong EVER. This game is not for those who are impatient. It is not for those who are not willing to take the time and understand things. This is the first time the Monster Hunter series has come to Xbox. The game is only a week old as of this review posting. It takes time to locate the cause and write the code to fix bugs. Remember if you do not like the game, you do not have to play the game. ✌✌

Ever since getting this game, I have started to enjoy fighting animals with my pocket knife. So far I have fought and carved 2 raccoons and 1 squirell. I hope to work my way up to a beaver ,but they are aggresive so wish me luck.

I've been playing Monster Hunter since the original came out on PS2. Liked it so much I bought the second one (which is, by the way, Japanese--don't ask me how I managed to play it). Anyway this is, by far, the best one of the franchise; and pretty much my favorite game as of now. If you're a fan of the series don't hesitate to get it. I've read some reviews, and it's a bit misguided to compare this to Dark Souls (one of my favorite series of games); Monster Hunter has been around quite some time before Dark Souls--or even Demon Souls for the matter--was created.

MHW is a great example of what developers should make. An in depth world, filled to the brim with acute details that many players may sadly miss, and will say the game lacks details. You have ecology, biology, and monster psychology that are a fresh new perspective to the stagnant gaming world. Monsters always will reside within certain areas because they've evolved to that ecosystem. (Almost) no monsters have inexplanable magic powers, they've evolved to be able to breath fire, resist poisonous gasses, and so on and so forth. Monsters have specific behavior, which range from the simple roar as a warning and attack seconds later, to attacking if you steal an egg, and docile untill attacked. Really awesome game, and I can't wait for Iceborne to be released. Sincerely A player from the 1st day of the game

Review title of Maxinimum17Great Game With the Worst Case of Dark Souls Syndrome

To be entirely honest, MHW feels like a Ubisoft game, and not just because of the subpar Assassin's Creed crossover event, it's because it has awful connectivity issues that pretty much make the multiplayer, especially SOS-Flare Responses, a game of Disconnection Roulette. Single and Two Player though is ASTOUNDING and has some of the best weapon class balancing I've seen in, well, ever. This game, like many others I see, is suffering from being compared to Dark Souls. It is not like Dark Souls in anyway besides big enemies with big health. If you're really stupid enough to get this game because some idiot compared it to Miyazaki's Berserk Fanfic Journal, then thank you for donating to Capcom so they can make a game better than Dragon's Dogma. Half of these negative reviews are from idiots complaining about "THE GRIND" while the other half is idiots that dove into a game series that they knew nothing about and weren't willing to learn how to play the way it should be played.

First day playing I got 12 hours in it was so fun I couldn't stop. This game has so much to do i did literally only 5 story missions in that time. The crafting is awesome since armor and weapons are made from large monsters that you may need to kill over and over. The combo/combat controls take time to master making it very fun. I've been soloing this so far but the coop has to be fun if solo is this fun. Only thing i wish they tweaked is the lock on system and how you lose lock on when the monster slips behind you. Some weapons are big and if you miss a swing you can go past your target, removing the lock on.Other than that this game is perfect and beyond entertaining GET THIS GAME!!!!! 👍👍 Only complaint is he tempered elder dragons, it feels like the hit boxes for their attacks increase and moves that you dodge clearly still hit you. Don't get why dlc hunts are next to impossible? I can kill tempered elder dragons but not any of the dlc stuff. Does it neeed to be so o.p.? Annoying
