Jackie Chan plays Jackie, aka the Asian Hawk; an Indiana Jones-style adventurer looking to make a fortune finding exotic antiquities. After discovering a mysterious sword in Africa, Jackie's ex-girlfriend Lorelei is kidnapped by a band of Satan-worshipping monks, who demand as ransom the sword and other pieces of a legendary suit called the Armour of God. With the help of wealthy collector Bannon, Bannon's daughter May and Hong Kong rock star Alan, Jackie sets out to rescue Lorelei. The journey is full of perils, twists and turns and, ultimately, Jackie is forced to take on an army of satanic monks single-handedly.
