Updating the French cult classic Garde À Vue, director Stephen Hopkins, Under Suspicion is set in the tropical port of San Juan, Puerto Rico, where a manhunt is on for a depraved killer who has brutalized two young girls. Distinguished and powerful attorney Henry Hearst (Gene Hackman) has discovered one of the bodies, and when police Capt. Victor Benezet (Morgan Freeman) interviews him, a conversation between peers descends into an intense interrogation between fierce adversaries. Questioning Hearst with a quick-tempered detective (Thomas Jane), they discover that his exquisite but embittered wife (Monica Bellucci) may hold the key to their investigation.
