This week, we are releasing a suite of new features to streamline your approval processes. You can set up an automated workflow to quickly process requests for vacation, overtime, or travel plans or for documents like budgets, contracts, blog posts, or specifications.<\/p>\n<p>With these new modern approvals experiences, you can quickly and easily create an approval workflow for your data in SharePoint, Dynamics CRM, Twitter, Visual Studio Team Services, MailChimp and many <a href=\"https:\/\/flow.microsoft.com\/en-us\/services\/\"><u>others<\/u><\/a>.\u00a0 As part of the approval process, approvers will receive email notifications about pending approvals, and can view and respond to all approval requests in a brand-new, unified approvals center.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0<iframe loading=\"lazy\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"315\" name=\"Approvals with Microsoft Flow\" scrolling=\"no\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/GATWcWulvgE?list=PL8nfc9haGeb55I9wL9QnWyHp3ctU2_ThF\" title=\"Approvals with Microsoft Flow\" width=\"560\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"margin: 12pt 0in 0pt;\">Start an Approval<\/h1>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\">Let\u2019s imagine that you manage your team\u2019s Twitter account and want to set up an approval process to automate proposed Tweets from your teammates.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\">You can ask your teammates to enter their proposals in a SharePoint list and create a flow such that whenever a new item is added, you start an approval process with item details. If you approve then post the tweet and notify the creator. If you reject, then email your teammate with your feedback.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/flowblogassets.blob.core.windows.net\/flowresourcesblogpost\/approvals-intro\/pic1.png\" style=\"width: 750px; height: 464px;\"\/><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\">The Start an approval action allows you to enter a title and specify the approver. You can also optionally enter details, such as the proposed tweet text, and a link to the list. These fields will be surfaced to the approver in the Approvals Center.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/flowblogassets.blob.core.windows.net\/flowresourcesblogpost\/approvals-intro\/pic2.png\"\/><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\">You can also capture the approver\u2019s feedback with the Comments output. In our Twitter approval example, you can email your teammate informing him\/her of why the tweet is unsuitable.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/flowblogassets.blob.core.windows.net\/flowresourcesblogpost\/approvals-intro\/pic3.png\"\/><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\">Approve a request<\/h1>\n<p>When an approval request is assigned to you, you will receive an email notification matching the title, details, and item link described in the Flow.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/flowblogassets.blob.core.windows.net\/flowresourcesblogpost\/approvals-intro\/pic4.png\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Clicking on the Approve or Reject buttons will lead you to the Approvals Center. Here you can see all your pending approval items.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/flowblogassets.blob.core.windows.net\/flowresourcesblogpost\/approvals-intro\/pic5_2.png\"\/><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\">Similarly, if you have the Flow Mobile app (available on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/microsoft-flow\/id1094928825?ls=1&amp;mt=8\" style='font-weight: normal; font-style: normal; font-size: 13.008px; font-family: Tahoma, \"Helvetica Neue\", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;'>iOS<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.microsoft.flow\" style='font-weight: normal; font-style: normal; font-size: 13.008px; font-family: Tahoma, \"Helvetica Neue\", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;'>Android<\/a>, and Windows Mobile coming soon), clicking on Approve or Reject will take you to an approval screen in the app.<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/flowblogassets.blob.core.windows.net\/flowresourcesblogpost\/approvals-intro\/pic6.png\"\/><\/h1>\n<h1 style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\">And stay tuned for more!<\/h1>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 8pt;\">Our goal with these new approval experience is to make it easier for flow authors to create approval based workflows for data in services like SharePoint and Dynamics and for approvers to quickly process their approval requests, but we\u2019re just getting started. In the coming weeks, we will be adding the ability for you to approve and reject directly from your inbox using Outlook\u2019s Actionable Messages, get push notifications whenever an approval request is assigned to you so that you can approve no matter where you are, and view your Sent requests in the Approvals Center.
