in Dataverse for Teams"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are excited to announce the <b>general availability\u00a0<\/b>of the\u00a0<strong>Edit in Excel <\/strong>feature in <strong>Dataverse for Teams.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0 This Dataverse feature is now available in Dataverse for Teams as an option from the ellipse menu in the Table designer.\u00a0 \u00a0This feature enables customers to move data both into Excel and edit it but also to add or change data and publish it back into Dataverse for Teams.\u00a0 <strong>Adding data into Dataverse for Teams<\/strong> is one of the more important and frequent feature requests we&#8217;ve gotten.\u00a0\u00a0You can use the Edit in Excel feature to do this.<\/p>\n<h2>Download your Excel file for your Dataverse for Teams database.<\/h2>\n<p>First you will need to get the Excel spreadsheet that will allow you to add your data.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>From the Build tab select Tables, and then select your table.<\/li>\n<li>Expand the ellipses menu to access the &#8220;Edit in Excel&#8221; menu in the Edit in Excel pane on the right and a new row will be added to the table in Excel.<\/li>\n<li>Multiple records.\u00a0 The database table is represented in an Excel Table.\u00a0 You can add multiple records into Excel the way you normally add new records to an Excel table with a Paste operation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Paste immediately below the table and it will add new rows to the Excel Table.\u00a0 \u00a0In the example below, I have added five new records by pasting names into the Name field.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13644\" height=\"236\" src=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/power-platform\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Adding-bulk-records.png\" width=\"408\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/power-platform\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Adding-bulk-records.webp 408w, https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/power-platform\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Adding-bulk-records-300x174.webp 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 408px) 100vw, 408px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Choose &#8220;Publish&#8221; from the Edit and Excel pane on the right.\u00a0 Once refreshed notice that additional fields are updated like &#8220;Owner (Looup)&#8221;, and &#8220;Created By (Lookup)&#8221;.\u00a0 \u00a0 Also note that the data is sorted differently.\u00a0 The &#8220;George&#8221; column is selected and there are four possible lookup values you can choose &#8220;London&#8221;, &#8220;New York&#8221;, &#8220;Paris&#8221;, and &#8220;Los Angeles.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Configuring Edit in Excel.<\/h2>\n<p>The Edit in Excel pane can be configured for specific situations<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Select your Name in the pane and you can sign in or out.<\/li>\n<li>Selecting the Gear icon (next to name) will allow you to set various parameters for how the Edit in Excel Add in works including control of which columns you can see in the Excel table.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13623\" height=\"875\" src=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/power-platform\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/pane.png\" width=\"338\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/power-platform\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/pane.webp 338w, https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/power-platform\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/pane-116x300.webp 116w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 338px) 100vw, 338px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Limits<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>By default, Edit in Excel can support refresh and edit of up to a maximum of 1, 000, 000 fields (cells).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Documentation<\/h2>\n<p>Edit in Excel is an established Dataverse feature.\u00a0 For more details on see our <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/powerapps\/maker\/data-platform\/data-platform-excel-addin#edit-data-in-excel\">Edit in Excel documentation.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Customers can now use &#8220;Edit in Excel&#8221;
