The default behavior hasn&#8217;t changed and existing Common Data Service connections will continue to use the canvas app&#8217;s current environment. When adding a new data source, we now display the environment at the top of the list of entities. The default appears as <strong>(Current)<\/strong>. The <strong>Change<\/strong> button appears when tabbing or hovering on the environment and clicking allows picking another environment.<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/powerapps.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/enable-common-data-service-connector-to-select-an-environment\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/powerappsblogmedia.azureedge.net\/powerappsblog\/2019\/07\/070219_2048_May2019upda2.png\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 11pt;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/powerapps.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/alm-at-scale-new-features-and-automation-capabilities\/\"><span style=\"color: #2dad9b; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 25pt;\">ALM at scale: new features and automation capabilities<\/span><\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 11pt;\">You can now package all related apps, Flows, logic, schema, and other components and move them together across environments. As an added benefit, you can also <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/dynamics365\/customer-engagement\/developer\/use-source-control-solution-files\"><span style=\"color: #8f528f; text-decoration: underline;\">manage your canvas apps and Flows in source control<\/span><\/a> and fully automate your build and release pipelines.<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/powerappsblogmedia.azureedge.net\/powerappsblog\/2019\/07\/070219_2048_May2019upda3.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 11pt;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/powerapps.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/announcing-the-general-availability-of-the-new-view-designer\/\"><span style=\"color: #2dad9b; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 25pt;\">Announcing the general availability of the new view designer<\/span><\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 11pt;\">The <strong>new view designer<\/strong> directly <strong>addresses all these problems<\/strong> faced by makers<strong> and a lot more<\/strong>. It <strong>displays data up front and center<\/strong> to help makers <strong>instantly see the effect of the filter conditions<\/strong> applied and change them as needed. <strong>Adding and reordering columns is quick, easy and intuitive<\/strong> via drag and drop or single-click column selection. <a href=\"https:\/\/powerapps.microsoft.com\/blog\/quickly-edit-the-filters-for-views\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #8f528f;\"><strong>Filter conditions can be quickly changed inline<\/strong><\/span><\/a> without having to bring up the advanced expression builder dialog and <strong>cascading sort using multiple columns can be easily applied<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 11pt;\">New features in the most recent update include the <strong>ability to drag and drop fields from the field pane directly onto the view<\/strong>. Makers can select the field that they want to add and drag it to the desired location in the view header row.<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/powerappsblogmedia.azureedge.net\/powerappsblog\/2019\/07\/070219_2048_May2019upda4.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 11pt;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/powerapps.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/time-zone-independent-fields-for-canvas-apps\/\"><span style=\"color: #2dad9b; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 25pt;\">Time zone independent fields for Canvas apps<\/span><\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 11pt;\">Canvas apps now fully support CDS time zone independent fields.\u00a0 In the CDS preview connector we had blocked them until they were working properly.\u00a0 All the work required has now been completed and fully deployed.<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 11pt;\">Our mission was simple: Canvas and Model-driven apps should show and edit date\/time values in the same manner.\u00a0 Entering a value in one app, of either variety, should display the same value in all other apps.<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 11pt;\">For example, here is an entity with two time zone independent fields:<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/powerappsblogmedia.azureedge.net\/powerappsblog\/2019\/07\/070219_2048_May2019upda5.png\" alt=\"\" \/><span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 11pt;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/powerapps.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/announcing-dual-write-preview\/\"><span style=\"color: #2dad9b; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 25pt;\">Dual Write Preview<\/span><\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333333; font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: 11pt;\">Dual Write provides a tightly coupled near-real time and bi-directional integration between the Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations and the Dynamics 365 for Sales. Once an entity is enabled for Dual Write, any create, update change in Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations results in writes, in near-real time, to the Common Data Service and vice versa. Ex: A change in the Customer entity in Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations is reflected in near-real time in the Account entity in the Dynamics 365 for Sales and vice-versa.
