What is the Supported Employment Program?

To enable employment diversity and inclusion, Microsoft Real Estate and Facilities (RE&F) partners with vendors and employment agencies, creating job opportunities for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) at Microsoft facilities across the globe.

Microsoft has produced a Supported Employment Program Toolkit, a free and open document that other companies can use as a resource for launching a similar program. The Toolkit includes the program goals, components, values, partners, and processes. It also provides a library of helpful documents, such as job descriptions, program charter, the Request for Information form used to select employment agencies, and more.

We encourage organizations to use this Toolkit to open the door to employment opportunities for individuals with I/DD.

Stay tuned to this page for updates to the Toolkit.

Microsoft has produced training for use by new managers and Human Resources teams. The goal of this training is to provide an understanding of the program as well as tools to effectively work with and manage Supported Employees. With a run-time of approximately 16 minutes, the training is designed to be viewed in its entirety or section by section, as time allows.
