Microsoft Research – New York City is actively seeking postdoctoral researchers across a range of research areas. MSR-NYC is an exciting, interdisciplinary environment in which researchers have the freedom to explore their scholarly interests with access to an extraordinary diversity of big and small data sources, an open publication policy, and close links to academic institutions. We seek applicants with the passion and ability to pursue an independent research program.
Postdoc positions at Microsoft Research provide emerging scholars with an opportunity to develop their research careers. Postdocs in our lab are encouraged to define their own research agenda and to demonstrate their ability to drive forward an effective program of research.
Microsoft Research New York consists of twenty-five full-time researchers and postdocs working in machine learning, computational social science, algorithmic economics, microeconomics, FATE: Fairness, Accountability, Transparency and Ethics in AI, and systems. The lab is highly collaborative and interdisciplinary and is actively engaged with the local academic and tech communities.
Postdocs receive a competitive salary and benefits package and are eligible for relocation expenses. Postdocs are typically hired for a two-year term appointment following the academic calendar. Prior to joining Microsoft Research, postdocs must have completed the requirements for a PhD, including final submission of their dissertation. Applicants with tenure-track offers from other institutions will be considered, provided they are able to defer their start date to accept our position. Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer and supports workforce diversity. We especially encourage applications from members of underrepresented groups.
