I lead healthcare research and delivery within Microsoft Health Futures, where our goal is to empower every person on the planet to live a healthier future — this includes our Biomedical Imaging, Biomedical Real-World-Evidence, Biomedical Signal Processing and Health Access/Equity research and incubation programmes. Previously, I founded the Health Intelligence theme at Microsoft Research Cambridge with a mission is to transform the practice of medicine via trustworthy and human-centred AI.
As a researcher at MSR, I have developed AI-based productivity tools for cancer treatment (see The InnerEye Project), and also explored various synergies between programming languages and machine learning which inspired new perspectives in formal verification, probabilistic programming, and reliable machine learning. I have also built several programmer productivity tools, including the 2nd generation of the Static Driver Verifier toolkit for Microsoft Windows.
