\nAfter a close review of guidance by global health authorities and out of an abundance of caution, we\u2019ve made the difficult decision to cancel the AI Institute “Real-World Reinforcement Learning” 2020 event. The health and safety of our teams and community around the world is our top priority.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n

Reinforcement Learning has recently enjoyed several notable successes and holds great promise to revolutionize the practice of machine learning by reducing the dependence on labeled examples and directly improving systems as we interact with them. At the same time, Reinforcement Learning algorithms are far from the level of maturity and reliability needed for such real-world deployments and the field faces several obstacles\u2014the reproducibility of results, sample inefficiency for real-world uses, and reward misspecification, to name a few. The goal of this workshop is to bring together folks working on a wide range of topics, both theoretical and empirical, in Reinforcement Learning and its applications to share their perspectives, bolster collaborations, and look for new angles of attack on these challenges.<\/p>\n
