A fun introduction to programming and making \u2013 switch on, program it to do something fun \u2013 wear it, customize it, develop new ideas. The first wave of BBC micro:bits will hit UK schools this fall.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>To bring the BBC micro:bit to life in 2015, Microsoft has developed an enhanced version of their popular <a class=\"msr-external-link glyph-append glyph-append-open-in-new-tab glyph-append-xsmall\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.touchdevelop.com\/\">TouchDevelop<span class=\"sr-only\"> (opens in new tab)<\/span><\/a> web application and hosting service. This means the micro:bit has its own dedicated website, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/\">Microsoft Azure<\/a> hosting for all one million micro:bits and a range of online code editors available from most any modern web browser.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft also has supplied two languages\/editors \u2013 TouchDevelop, a text-based language, and the Block Editor, a graphical coding language.
