In this work, we introduce the IdeaPanel system, an inter-
\nactive sketch-based image search engine with millions of im-
\nages. IdeaPanel enables users to sketch the target image
\nin their minds and also supports tagging to describe their
\nintentions. After a search is triggered, similar images will
\nbe returned in real time, based on which users can inter-
\nactively re ne their query sketches until ideal images are
\nreturned. Di erent from existing work, most of which re-
\nquires a huge amount of memory for indexing and match-
\ning, IdeaPanel can achieve very competitive performance but
\nrequires much less memory storage. IdeaPanel needs only
\nabout 240MB memory to index 1:3M images (less than 3%
\nof previous MindFinder system). Due to its high accuracy
\nand low memory cost, IdealPanel can scale up to much larg-
\ner database and thus has larger potential to return the most
