Compared to theWeb where each web page has a global URL for external
\naccess, a specific \u201cpage\u201d inside a mobile app cannot be easily
\naccessed unless the user performs several steps from the landing
\npage of this app. Recently, the concept of \u201cdeep link\u201d is expected to
\nbe a promising solution and has been advocated by major service
\nproviders to enable targeting and opening a specific page of an app
\nexternally with an accessible uniform resource identifier. In this
\npaper, we present a large-scale empirical study to investigate how
\ndeep links are really adopted, over 25,000 Android apps. To our
\nsurprise, we find that deep links have quite low coverage, e.g., more
\nthan 70% and 90% of the apps do not have deep links on app stores
\nWandoujia and Google Play, respectively. One underlying reason is
\nthe mandatory and non-trivial manual efforts of app developers to
\nprovide APIs for deep links.We then propose the Aladdin approach
\nalong with its supporting tool to help developers practically automate
\nthe release of deep-link APIs to access locations inside their
\napps. Aladdin includes a novel cooperative framework by synthesizing
\nthe static analysis and the dynamic analysis while minimally
\nengaging developers\u2019 inputs and configurations, without requiring
\nany coding efforts or additional deployment efforts. We evaluate
\nAladdin with 579 popular apps and demonstrate its effectiveness
