Yet a manager\u2019s job description often requires subordination or compromise from these values: what the company wants done and how it wants it done takes precedence over personal preferences. As a result most managers are in a constant state of emotional detachment, and when there is a deep divide between how someone wants to manage and who they have to be as a manager, all hope of emotional commitment (and corporate profitability) is lost.
