Outlook.com is a new, modern email service from Microsoft that provides a fresh and intuitive design, powerful tools for getting through your email, rich connections to your people and more. Email is a critical part of people’s daily lives, but at the same time, your email is filled with personal and private conversations, information and more.
A 2013 study by TRUSTe showed that 82 percent of users worry about their privacy when using email. Outlook.com prioritizes your privacy and we do not scan the content of your email messages, attachments, address book, or other communications for the purpose of serving you ads.
Outlook.com also offers a number of settings to help you protect your privacy including options for controlling who can send you messages.

In Outlook.com, click and then click More mail settings.
Under Preventing junk email, click Filters and reporting.
Under Choose a junk mail filter, select the filter level you want to apply to incoming messages.
Follow these steps to specify people whose email you want to receive and senders you want to block.
In Outlook.com, click , and then click More mail settings.
Under Preventing junk email, click Safe and blocked senders.
To create a list of senders who can send email that will not be sent to the junk email folder, click Safe senders, and follow the directions on the screen.
To block and automatically delete email from specific senders, click Blocked senders, and follow the directions on the screen.
